    Give Ricky Burns a break!

it might not have been exciting, but he boxed well, moved great and did exactly what he had to do - win convincingly.

Fights like this always come up in a boxers career and sometimes you have to ignore the over critical boxing fans and just go out there and stick to a rigid game plan.

Well done Ricky, a good orthodox nights work.

Now the mouth watering fight with Kevin is most definitely ON

    Peace.

Don't worry about it - haters gonna hate. . . THey don't wanna see Burns dominate. . .

Burns is just as good as DeMarco and Vazquez, other LW champions. . .

He'll do his thing. . . After Mitchell I hope he comes to USA to unify some titles. . .

THen I'd like to see him go up to 140 to try to get a belt in a third weight class.

Ricky Burns should fight Kevin Mitchell next. I fully expect Broner vs. Burns to happen in the next year or two, and Broner will knock him out.

I think Burns beats DeMarco and would have a good shot to beat Vazquez as well. I still think Jorge Linares will end up being the best LW. Broner vs. Linares will happen at some point, you can bet on that.

I would definitely favor Broner due to his amazing physical attributes (speed, punching power), but I do think Burns has the style to beat a guy like Broner.

He fights very tall, and is very quick with transitioning form his punches to putting his ear muffs on - he has a very tight high-guard defense. He could very well outpoint Broner, but like I said, I would favor Broner.

I favor Burns over DeMarco and Vazquez, although just slightly. Both those are very good fights. . . Essentially, all three have similar styles - fight tall, very good jab, and sound defense. . .

Broner is just going to be a "problem" for anybody simply because of his speed and power. . . We still don't know how his stamina and chin are, though. . . Nor how he can deal with a rangy, clever boxer/puncher.

I don't think Burns got the power to take DeMarco out and Im not sure how he's gonna deal with DeMarco's pressure. I love Linares and the way he boxes and his style but I gotta disagree with him ending up as best LW. Look at his 2 losses, both by TKO to 2 top guys. One a Jr LW and the other a LW.

We'll see how he fights his next fight. The dude (his opponent) hasn't been fighting no top notch competition but has 19 KOs sooo... I think any type of power = trouble for Linares.

                  I like Ricky Burns.

                  I think Broner-Burns is 50-50.

At 135 he can beat most. he's a very good boxer.

Ricky Burns doesnt have power to knock out a world class guy.
and he doesnt have the defense to outpoint a world class guy.

So he's stuck between that upper domestic/lower world level....
