I'm with you on that one. These guys in their suits, multi-million dollar budgets and multi-million dollar salaries don't like to be "disappointed" by unreliable pawns. If Gamboa was a superstar, maybe, just maybe, he'd be able to get away with something like what he pulled. But there are steps to becoming a mega-star...and there will be barricades for Yuri now.

Gamboa really should've shown up to those press conferences. At the very least, he should've stayed visible throughout this debacle. He's either been getting bad advice, or he's just a head case..

Who authored such a disagreeable text? I bet we never see anything and some people on Boxing Scene will keep passing bs as gospel about this "pitiful" contract.
yah, why dont gamboa spill the beans of this "unsatisfactory" term(s) that he is not happy about? why does he keep saying that he is not happy with the terms of the agreement?

That's the problem, he doesn't "keep saying" anything. Gamboa issued a brief statement on Monday and he hasn't been seen or heard from since. WTF!

I was afraid Gamboa was waiting too long to address this situation publicly. That brief statement he issued early last week was nowhere near enough. There's a reason why Hershman hasn't said anything until now; he was waiting to see how things unfolded. But he wasn't going to wait long.

Yuri appears to have been getting bad advice from the start. With this recent episode, Gamboa should've stayed visible. He's been MIA. That spells U-N-R-E-L-I-A-B-L-E...and that's poison. Business executives like Hershman don't have time for that kind of nonsense. There's serious money at stake, reputations to protect and responsibilities to observe.

I feel the damage has been done. But Gamboa better show his face if he hopes to salvage anything at all....
i have a feeling that the bad advice came from the mayweather camp when gamboa visited and hung out at the mayweather gym...its furking obvious man

Hell, ESPN should stand by HBO and SHO if they banned him and let Gamboa fight in some other country. I have nothing against Gamboa but this stuff can't be tolerated. I don't think Gamboa realizes how much backlash this is going to cause.

His lawyer/advisor needs to understand that first, then communicate it to Gamboa. If Yuri is sitting there, ignoring sound legal and PR advice, he deserves the tsunami that's sure to come.

you guys don't know what kind of deal top rank is even offering him. This is sounding like when Mayweather left and all of a sudden they wanted to give him 8 mil to fight Margarito, but he would have to stay with top rank for a few more fights. He probably wants to complete his contract obligations and move on. Arums not going to put him anywhere near Juanma the same way they protected Cotto from Mayweather. He should be fighting on some PPV undercards like Alverez is doing to give him more exposure.

Too many speculations going on about this ****. Everyone pointing fingers at Gamboa and wishing bunch foul **** on him just cause he didn't go on with a fight everyone wanted to watch. Buncha selfish pricks if you ask me, blaming a guy that seems to be standing up for himself and not willing to be the promoters' puppet. Isn't this what everyone wants from Pacquiao like Mayweather and Cotto did? Gamboa tries to do the same thing and everybody starts buying the bull**** the promoters' are trying to sell that Gamboa is a "coward". Maybe he didn't go on about this the right way but people do dumb **** out of anger, I know I do. But maybe just maybe there's a good reason behind all this, I don't think he would make such a "dumb" move knowing how deep in the waters he would be.

Im done arguing about this issue until more info gets out. Till then Ill just keep an eye from every bit of info I can find on Gamboa.
