Lopez is an inside fighter, but Salido's inside fighting does more damage to Lopez than vice versa. Lopez tried to keep the fight on the outside in the first fight, but Salido's tactical pursuit (footwork and pressure), angles, defense, accurate power punches and body work forced Juanma to fight an inside fight. As soon as Salido started to outmanuever Lopez on the outside, Lopez' deficiencies (lack of defense and wide punching technique) were exposed.

Juanma can try to keep the fight on the outside again, but his ineffective outside fighting against Salido's ability and tactics will put Lopez' deficiencies on display once again.

The first fight's outcome did not arrive by happenstance. Salido against a faster (though not as powerful) and physically stronger, but stylistically similar fighter to Lopez (Robert Guerrero at 126) gave me enough insight to predict the upset. Even his fight against Gamboa, he put his dedicated body work on display and eventually had Gamboa close to a loss (his body work and tactics had us watching the slowest version of Gamboa we've seen to date during the middle rounds), if it weren't for Gamboa's excellent stamina and confidence (he got a second wind), Salido would have 2 upsets of undefeated fighters.

Lopez looked his best on the rare occasions when he backed Salido up so that might be his best chance to get an early KO because Salido is to strong and savvy to allow that to happen too often. Lopez might look like he's controlling the fight, but Salido will be the one doing damage. Salido by late round KO.
Nice to see someone who know his ****, DiosDominicano....

seriously, im still amazed by some boxing fans, they just see a fighter with better handspeed and longer, against someone slower who pressures and say:

"he just needs to box more"

    i mean.....eddie futches right there....

    easy 4billion points tonight

You shouldn't be amazed... People can barely concentrate on the **** they're masturbating to and it takes a decent amount of concentrated effort to understand boxing (and even still you'll neve be right 100% of the time). Speed and length are what catches eyes... Timing, range, foot placement, etc.? Not really.

Salido performed as I thought he would. He won the fight on the outside, forced Juanma to try a different strategy, Salido dominated on the inside took enough out of him in the process and stopped him. As soon as I saw Lopez pressing the fight, I said "this is his last stand," and Salido really worked him over. The PR crowd was cheering and Salido did get clipped, but for the most he was slipping Lopez' shots and landing heavy shots in return. During the break before the 10th, I heard Lopez say "Estoy mal", which is when I really knew the fight was over. Respect to Lopez who took more than I thought he would be able to.

All in all I'm going with Salido. Lopez won't hurt him. and can't out box him.

He basically just relies on his punch and all Salido had to do is take that punch away and Lopez is beatable. These promoters are not doing their fighters any good by trying to keep them undefeated by having them not take the tougher challenges because once they lose..... they lose big and to Salido who has 11 loses. Totally monkey wrenched his rise. Now he's making excuses so if he gets beat again then we know he is just not the better fighter. Salido looks like he means business. Not believing he is going to let this slip out of his hands.
