Aside from the physical aspects, mental toughness and focus. Can't get discouraged or over eager against a guy like Mayweather. It's one of the reasons why I think Cotto is a dangerous fight for him.

Agreed, I think Cotto is a dangerous fight for Floyd, alot of people are writing Cotto off, I still think Floyd will win, but Cotto is going to have his moments againts Floyd.

I know you said number one, but i think feints and timing are equally as important.

Floyd reacts to subtle movements a fighter makes. Feints will open him up a little bit more.

Timing is key when facing a guy like Floyd. Good timing usually slows down an opponents offensive output, Floyd isn't very active anyway. I've seen in the past where Floyd does the pull counter and will leave the left hand low; something that a figher with good timing might be able to take advantage of.

To beat Mayweather you need more than just strength+speed. Every single opponent he faces says the same thing! You need the whole package which not many guys out there have got!

My guess at this point, a solid jab you can work off of all night. Considering that so far everything i thought would work hasn't, can't say i have much confidence in that strategy either.

I agree, Floyd never fought the best at their best, but sometimes thats not always possible. I believe De La Hoya would have schooled him a few years earlier, hell he even won on one of the cards when he fought Floyd. It was a split decision win for Floyd, but many can still argue that the fight could have been given to Oscar. It was after that fight with OScar, that Mayweathers stocks went up.

In reality, the only person than can defeat Floyd Mayweather is Floyd Mayweather. He will have to lose his love, focus, hardwork and dedication to the sport in order for him to lose in my opinion.

This guys has 42 professional fights and has seen EVERY style in the book. WHo cares if you have speed or you have power or determination or pressure or feints or footwork or whatever. This guy nearly perfect in the ring. There is a reason he is 42-0 and has never touched the canvas. There is a reason he's maybe been stunned or seriously hurt no more than 5 times in his entire career since 1996. Yes he struggled in his first fight vs Castillo but every fighter has that 1 fight that is very close in their careers & Mayweather is no exception.

None of these fighters have adaptability, they all do the same thing over and over. Mayweather has been programmed with nothing but boxing, he knows it all. He knows every boxers flaws before he even gets into the ring. There are no fighters in the sport of boxing right now in any weight class that I feel has all of the boxing attributes that Mayweather posses.

De La hoya would've schooled Mayweather a few years earlier while he was a JMW and Mayweather was a featherweight?
