I think that he's a going to struggle to get US recognition because of how he avoided Broner. It's a shame really because he did look very good against Martinez and Katsidis, but it's hard to get too excited about a fighter when the perception is that he will probably stick to fighting other Brits rather than the top US-based guys.

I expect Burns to beat Mitchell, but after that I really hope Warren takes a risk and let's him go against one of the other title holders. Some of them (like DeMarco) are not that special imo, but would get him more recognition than facing someone like John Murray, which is what I expect Warren to set up if Burns does beat Mitchell.

I hate to say it, but had he been English he'd have been given a fair bit more attention. Even on Ringside, they barely ever mention him. His fight has hardly been mentioned while they hype up Kell Brook-Matthew Hatton.

As I've said though, I fully expect Kevin Mitchell to take his title.

It's not a personal thing against Burns though. Sky won't promote anything that is shown on another channel. Like the Cleverly fight the other week, mentioned, once. Pisses me off really.

^^There's probably some truth to that as well. Being from someone like London or Manchester probably would've meant more media and fan attention.

He needs to get off boxnation and onto C5 to get more coverage.
