Doesn't sound like he signed the fight contract, but did sign some sort of extension with TR. Somebody mentioned that the problem might not be with TR but with some sort of extension with Ahmet Ohner's Arena Box, which co-promotes Gamboa. I think his contract with Arena Box is supposedly ending before the actual Rios fight? I don't remember the details specifically. It's a big mess.

basicaaly gamboa signed a bad deal that toprank has been doing to all its fighters. manny pacquiao should be making way more money than he does regardless the opponent. gamboa is looking out for himself. regardless of the contract he's the one that has to get in the ring with his life on the line.

Even signing with GB/Floyd after he leaves TR, he will never recoup the amount of money he will lose in the court and the money lost because of his inactivity in the ring because of this.

Sometimes verbal agreements are just as good, especially with witnesses and official documents stating so, like emails, etc.

The point being, Top Rank is above Gamboa, period. He can "Occupy Las Vegas" but the "man" is eventually going to bring him down.
