Wasn't Pavlik the recognized middleweight champ of the world and the tremendously larger man?

I mean, come on....compare what he has done over his past 5 to what Flamboyant Floyd has done or what Punchout Pac has done. Many people feel that Pac lost his last outing and Floyd had to resort to questionable tactics to win his last fight but all that is cool and they are the epitome of dominating force? Wasn't JMM 37? Mosley too? How come Pac couldn't put em away? How come Floyd didn't KO old bloated JMM.....isn't he the p4p#1 or 2 guy? Did he have an off night or something?
What did my post have to do with Pacquaio or Mayweather?

Why are you so obsessed with KO's?

Oh my God, Martinez knocked out Darren Barker! Amazing!

It's not an amazing feat to do that.

I don't consider Martinez to be overrated. Perhaps by a few of his fans but that's where it stops.

I have him in my Top 5 P4P and he's arguably Top 3, IMO. In his last few fights he's had very good wins, some solid wins, and some **** wins.

I was simply questioning the idea that Martinez is doing what the fans ask constantly. I'm sorry, no one asked Martinez to fight Darren Barker and the fact he was undefeated and stopped doesn't make that win any more impressive than what it is - ****.

      I agree.

I think Bradley is a good fighter and I like that guy but I can't see him not getting a beating from Pacquaio.

it was a badass era populated by legit contenders...

mccallum, toney, kalambay, nunn, barkley and those british guys...

a fight between martinez and roberto duran (that beat barkley) would have brought the house down...

i think duran would knock him the hell out after picking him apart and beating him up.

            tenth or eleventh
just think about the beasts that duran hurt (hagler, barkley jump out at MW.) when he was motivated he was just an awesome fighter

i dont think martinez takes punches well. i'm not saying hes not tough or that he doesnt at least have a decent chin. i'm saying he doesn't do well taking the punches. they effect him and he shows it.

and timing beats speed every time.
martinez is the outright bigger man, and the battle weight at 160 would help him stay upright, but lets be honest with ourselves here.
martinez has had problems with pavlik, williams, dzinziruk, macklin, barker

duran would bust him up. he's not some huge and physical MW who would simply be too man much for duran to handle (hearns [even though they fought at 54,] G man, fitzsimmons, etc)

I never heard a single person saying Martínez is better than Duran, never, but well. Duran is probably the best fighter ever, and he would beat Martínez in 154 with no doubt in my mind. But this is not a point to say Martínez is overated, the point is he beat Pavlik when he was a big underdog in that fight, he beat Paul Williams with a terrorific KO, a man who never was KO´ed before or after that fight or stopped, and that includes a su****ius Margarito fight. He beat Dzinziruk a six years bet holder, Barker undefeated, Macklin who should have the sturm belt. If you go back, he fought on the road many times being always the underdog, Richard Williams twice, Adrian Stone, Bunema just ko'ed an old Karmazin and he was stopped by Martínez. All of this on the road, no home made decisions.

I know I´m talking with a wall, you never will change your opinions, but all of these are facts. I think is a very good career, obv not Duran or SRL level, but who can say that nowadays, Floyd? Pacman? Get real.
