    Excellent, excellent post!!

Wasn't the US government of the time trying to stand up against tyranny in attempting to halt the spread of communism?

Flawed thinking perhaps, but not necessarily the imposition of a tyrannical regime.

Ali's stance on Vietnam has become the stuff of legend. Like all legend, the truth, shrouded in mystique, is very elusive. The story most people believe is that the charismatic heavyweight champion stood up to the mighty United States government, suffered punishment and subsequently became an icon. But if we are to believe Mark Kram, in his book "Ghosts of Manila," the reality was somewhat different. Kram relates how it was the idea of Nation of Islam leaders for Ali to resist the draft. The frightened and impressionable young champion was essentially used by the people he trusted most.

I think Ali is a good man. He's led an amazing life and inspired millions by his actions, whether they were sincere or not. But the Vietnam episode in Ali's life has almost certainly been polished throughout the years in direct proportion to Ali's legend. I believe that there are two sides to every story...and the truth lies somewhere in between....

*****s would say: "Floyd Jr., Floyd Sr., R. Mayweather, and Leonard Ellerbe"

*******s would say: "PAcquiao, Roach, Ariza, and Arum"

But seriously, I think Ali, Marciano, Leonard, Robinson

I like this. 3 of those is outstanding choices. I'm not so sure about Louis, although I have a hard time coming up with a better choice straight off the bat. The 3 others should be a shoe-in though.

                      @mr fantastic

                      Ali a coward?

Shut your mouth you ignorant scum sub human waste of air. Learn your facts you ignorant piece of wasted space before you ever open your mouth and wrongfully accuse someone like Ali ever again.

Ali was in a era of racism where his country ****ing LYNCHED a black man for just looking at a white woman, that was HIS ERA.
Black children sit at the BACK of the bus that was his ERA. The 'N' word which rappers use so freely now were used by non blacks as a means of extreme insult and abuse THAT WAS HIS ERA. Black teens were dragged down the streets in the south behind trucks tied up THAT WAS HIS ERA.
If he dodged draft now, ya maybe he is a coward. Why the hell will he die for a country at that time that will spit on his race and defiled his people in every way that they could?

That's like asking a Chinese guy living in Japan to die for Japan after the **** and torture of nan king

That's like asking one of us Brits to die for Ireland after the IRA bombed our families OH CUZ WE LIVING IN IRELAND AT THE TIME.

That's like asking the ancient Thracians and Gaols to DIE FOR ROME because they were living in Rome after Rome ****d and tortured their families and enslaved them

That's like asking the people of Sierra Leone to 'fight for da government' just because they lived in sierra leone after the government capture their kids and brutalized them in the blood mines.

Learn your god damn facts before even opening your mouth and call someone like Ali a coward , you scum.

ALSO I JUST KNEW YOU WERE A GOD DAMN ****ING KLITSHCKO FAN

                      WHAT A ****ING SURPRISE THERE
