So, explain why a contract wasn't made to be signed? If we're talking about being prof.
who says there wasnt/werent a contract signed?
        it must have been signed.
then why would there be a reserved fight date of april 14 @ mandalay bay?
and why would HBO post a schedule to air gamboa/rios for april 14?

without a contract, none of the above would be in play right?
so looks like gamboa did sign a contract

funny how it only becomes a "slave contract" when the time comes that the promoter might actually recoup some of his investment. I never hear guys referring to "slave contracts" when the promoter is losing money developing the kid in 6 and 8 rounders......

so why did team gamboa work this out before the tour?
why did they have to wait until the last minute to say something?
and based on how TR conducts their business (atleast what we read online), they always have a solid contract with their fighters before engaging them to a fight
what gamboa and his handlers did was unprofessional.. They ought to have a good lawyer to help defend themselves against TR's
            hordes of lawyers
and one more thing, it was selfish and unfair to leave team rios hanging
if gamboa had no plans to fight, or didn't have a contract to fight, he could have told rios about it, to save team rios the amount of time they invested in preparing for this supposed fight....NYobserver

In all fairness it's no cowards in boxing..It's warriors and politics. The politics of boxing is usually what ruins fights.

Not necessarily true. Did you forget the entire Cotto vs. Margarito fiasco with the licensing? Despite contracts being signed, venue booked, tickets sold out, etc. -- the fight nearly did not happen. This is more of the same but just a different scenario.

The Gamboa team should be honest and transparent enough to admit that Gamboa prefer to be under Mayweather Jr Promotion Co.
