    Greater Accomplishment: Mayweather's 42-0 Or Chavez Sr's 89-0-1

We're talking about "at the time" in their careers.

I'm kind of leaning on Chavez. I know he basically lost to Whitaker and Taylor, but Chavez was fighting every month or so against everyone.

I can see some making an argument for Mayweather regarding the weight classes, but I think it's close.

    What do you say guys?

I'd probably lean on Chavez also.

    Relatively close though IMO.

Let's be real here, even Cotto has a better resume than floyd so comparing it to an all time great is a joke lol.

By the time Mayweather is retired and if he remains undefeated Id say him. Mayweather will be stacking the tail end of his resume with great fights in the next few years.

How? I mean they have both fought Zab Judah, Mosley, Corley. Cotto has lost to Margarito & Pacquiao. He struggled vs Clottey.... Now who else or shall I say which wins on Cottos resume are superior to Mayweathers?

Also take into consideration that Cottos first win over a champion with a title was Yuri Foreman in his 33rd pro fight. Fighting in his 3rd weight class His other title wins were in Vacant title matches.

Mayweather won a world title in his 18th fight. He has won titles @130,135,140,147 & 154, he has defeated champions with belts in each of those weight classes.

Please tell me how Cottos resume is better?

I just don't see why it took him so long (33 fights & 9 years as a pro) to beat a champ with a title?
