Floyd's shoulder is a timing mechanism used as a sensor to set off his counters. I wouldn't aim for it.I've been boxing most of my life and have been in the ring with a few pretty good fighters who were pretty fast and plenty that tried to emulate floyd...granite that's not the same as being in there with him and none truely successfully emulate his stile.
All I'm saying is that someone who's a smart fighter knows that if someone has good head movement and good defense you aim your punches to parts of the body that don't move and that they're not used to defending like the chest, shoulder, top of the head. This really shouldn't be that outrageous of an idea for people that know boxingComment

I understand what youre trying to imply. Youre saying Cotto should look for openings to get him but that still wont work. Floyd's defense is too good for a gameplan so amateurish. Doing that against a fighter like Floyd who has good handspeed and timing and always seems to be mentally ahead of his opponents would not be effective. Cotto needs a solid gameplan and a tad bit of luck. Maybe his body shots will be effective in the later rounds but who knows if Cotto would even be mentally present by the 6th round?I've been boxing most of my life and have been in the ring with a few pretty good fighters who were pretty fast and plenty that tried to emulate floyd...granite that's not the same as being in there with him and none truely successfully emulate his stile.

Until the fight happens all these ideas of what will or won't be effective for each fighter is just speculation. That's the great thing about boxing....people can argue until they're blue in the face but until the fight happens all of these arguments are just ideas based on past performances against previous opponents not on fact. Jab to the body overhand right to the head is a pretty "amateurish" move also (one of the first combos an amatuer would learn) but it worked pretty well for Mosely against Mayweather for that split second in time. Boxing basics should never be considered amateurish, amateruish is not knowing the basics.I understand what youre trying to imply. I agree it's a timing mechanism. I'm not talking about hitting the part of the shoulder floyd uses to roll to block punches because that would be foolish and he would counter all day no different than when he rolls his shoulder to counter any other punch..... I'm talking more about aiming at where the arm is connected to the chest...that part of the shoulder....it would almost look like a stiff jab to the chest, just slightly over towards the shoulder. Over time this would definately have effectComment

Cotto should **** a few hits around the kidneys around floyds left tricep. And hit floyds temple with right hooks that come north to south.Comment

Basically, the upper arm/inner shoulder joint (I'm at a loss of words on what exactly to call it). If you're doing this it would push his left shoulder back and it would be harder for him to roll it back on time to defend if you came back with an overhand right.Comment
