Mayorga had just begun his career as a comeback opponent after the Tito fight.

Not really, it is not like he was anything special. He just had Forrest number. And, I thought he lost the rematch but it was close. Didn't do a damn thing about 147 save for shot to pieces Vargas. A washed up Tito, coming off years of inactivity beat down Mayorga and possibly cracked his chin.
