Comments Thread For: Team Bute: Froch Did What Ward, Kessler Refused To Do

Promoter Jean Bedard of InterBox gives credit to former two-time WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (28-2, 20KOs) - because the British boxer agreed to fight IBF champion Lucian Bute (30-0, 24KOs) on May 26th. And Bute made substantial concessions to get a deal done, as he travels to Froch's backyard at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham.

No1 can complain much about Andre Ward making a defense before a unification with Bute. He's just came out a gruelling amount of fights in the last few years. Froch on the other hand will fight anyone, anywhere, anytime lol

oh man lol....Froch has L's on his record because of Kessler and Ward....see, Froch is a smart dude...I can see how he's building one of the best resumes in the game....Bute is the NEXT best win in the division behind the 2 dudes who beat him....after being shutdown by Ward he needs a win to get his swag back.....and he'll get it against Bute....who wanna bet?!?

Credit to Bute for showing willingness to travel. This is an outstanding match-up and even though I favour Bute to win, the odds are somewhat diminished when it's in Nottingham.

Ward just ran the super 6 like a boss, he owes Bute nothing
really hope Froch beats Bute's ass, the guy is all talk up until now
about time he took on a real challenge
Froch isn't that good but he's rough enough to cut down Bute

Okay Bute has taken a lot of flack for many years but you have to give him props for this and so too Froch for taking it. This is what boxing's about.

Team Bute says that Froch did what Ward didn't do. So I'm guessing that means Froch will enter the fight with an injured hand? Cause thats what Ward would have had to do. It takes time to heal from the broken hand he suffered against Froch. Bute is an excellent fighter but Ward has fought the best and all in a row.

Bute made the right decision, although he will need to be very impressive to get a decision in Nottingham.

I can understand why Andre Ward doesn't want another big fight, he won that tournament and he has the right to enjoy the benifits of it.

Imo, Kessler should have said yes to fight Bute, after fighting Froch in Nottingham and Ward in the USA, Bute will certainly have a few fights in Montreal, so Kessler will have lost his chance to fight Bute in his hometown and will also get less money.

I don't like Bute. Never have.

He's reminds me too much of Joe Calzaghe and Darius Michelczewshi ... two fighters that hid out in isolated corners of the world.

If Bute wants to make statements like the one in this thread, he should have gotten his asss in the Super Six. He would be beyond reproach had he fought in and won the tournament.

Bute is an opportunist in that he avoided the tournament but feels as though he's in position to talk ****.

I personally hate fighters like that.

Bute in my mind is not even at the top. He should have to fight Froch, Abraham and Dirrell before he even gets to face Kessler, let alone Ward.

You must EARN your way up the ladder. Bute seems to think that he should have access to a private elevator.

I know fans want to see it, but the man is starting off by riding hype. I mean, it wasn't that long ago that we saw him get saved by the bell against Andrade.

He's got no reason to be puffing out his chest and talking **** to Kessler or Ward.
