The Bowe that fought Holyfield the first time was an absolute beast. An absolute nightmare for any Heavyweight ever!.
Loved getting on the inside and having a good scrap, which is rare for a man his size. But could also box on the outside as well.
Shame he didn't have the balls to step up to Lennox. That would have been a great fight.Comment

WVALD HAS BEEN FIGHTING TOP 10 COMPETITION FOR OVER 10 YEARS, BEEN IN NEARLY 60 FIGHTS. HE would destroy this fat american, who ducked lewis and was an army drop out.
Wvald would merc him, both k bro's are leaugues above the rest, even a fat bum like bowe, who could not keep his fat ass in the gym. Sums up america i guessComment

Underrated? Hell, you never stop hearing people creaming their pants over him. Bowe had one good performance in him, then he dropped off like a sailor walking the plank and started getting beat up by Herbie Hide. The dude did not have the discipline to be a top class professional fighter, and all the talent in the world isn't going to help you there.
As for how he'd do today, well, he'd probably be about fifty pounds overweight for a start ("if Solis and Arreola can come in fat why can't I?" etc). Secondly, having nothing much to test himself against besides the Klits he'd start fighting down to his opposition. It's simply unrealistic to expect Bowe to maintain even the lazy conditioning of his prime years in today's era.
Saying that he'd probably still get a title shot at some point. Hell, Bowe would have loved fighting in this era, but not for the reasons you think.Comment

WOW! . . . .Either you've never seen Bowe fight or you've bumped your head and developed amnesia 'cause that comment is about as stupifying as anything I've ever come across on this site.
So let's forget that ridiculous statement and move on to the Klitschko brothers. Undoubtedly they're more disciplined than Big Daddy. Their professionalism is commendable but lets not for one second start thinking that either of these guys are in the same league in terms of talent.
In fact, there seems to be a mass case of what we can term 'pugilistic amnesia'; it's not when someone has taken too many punches and damaged their memory. It's when you've wallowed in ****e for so long that you no longer know the difference between what's good and what's not. It's a bit like like cultural amnesia, when my girlfriend doesn't know who Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald or Billie Holiday are and thinks that X Factor contestants are talented singers.
Pass the smelling salts. . . . . . . some people need to wake the f**k up.Comment
