De lahoya is better than cotto at 154 I believeif oscar fought paciauo at154 the outcome would've been different he was just a weight drained fighter but I gotta agree with uncle roger here too much boxing skill for cotto it might go the distance.

Floyd Didn't Whoop Oscar; He Turned Down $25M For A Rematch!

The difference between Ortiz and Cotto is experience, and intelligence. Ortiz was roughing up Floyd until he got ****** on a break and left his hands down. If Cotto has ANYTHING left, he will beat hell out of Floyd Mayweather, then Uncle Roger will be out beating women in anger.

Don't know why people keep posting Cotto has to beat Floyd with his jab. Cotto's jab is good against boxers who has around the same arm length as his. Floyd has a 5in reach advantage. If Cotto pumps his jab Floyd is going to time him with rights just like he did Oscar. Asking him to constantly throw his jab is asking him to outbox FMJ and that's not happening. His best bet is to hope Floyd does what he said he was going to do and that's go toe to toe. Never really seen Cotto as a good inside fighter but stranger things has happened.

DLH never really improved his right straight, but I think Cotto did in recent years thanks to Steward. The thing is, DLH's weight/size/height is what made his fight with Floyd somewhat competitive. Floyd was small for 154 back then, he's better suited for it now than before.

According to boxrec.com , Cotto and JMM have the same exact height/reach.

Doesn't really mean much, especially since Cotto and JMM have different boxing styles, and also Cotto being much bigger than JMM, and only slightly bigger than Floyd, or equal.

Floyd's reach advantage will show up... just as it did in the Floyd/JMM fight.

The only advantages that Cotto has that JMM didn't, is the jab (although JMM's jab is good, too), weight, power, and experience as a southpaw (Cotto is left handed, remember). I'm not so sure on the handspeed difference of Cotto and 2009 "Fat" Marquez. Neither are fast, that's for sure.

If Cotto doesn't have much success fighting Floyd as an orthodox, maybe switching to southpaw will help. His left straight seems pretty powerful, and will negate Floyd's shoulder roll. At the same time, this may cause Floyd to be more aggressive and use a high guard, resulting in a more entertaining match.

Floyd UD 116-112 in a good fight, worth paying for if you're a fan of the sweet science, and has a good undercard (Mosley vs. Alvarez).
Wow, I didn't even know that. Remember how tall Floyd looked against Marquez on fight night? and how much longer his arms were than Marquez's? So basically Cotto will suffer from the same exact disadvantage. Only that Cotto is heavier in weight. Don't know what being bigger will do honestly.

That, and even worse... Cotto crouches down a lot more than JMM.

I think Cotto is a little taller and wider and lucky for him he has a better/more damaging jab than JMM. Marquez tried to be overly aggressive against Floyd and to me outside of Floyds skills he was just too small to carry that weight. He couldnt make Floyd respect his punch and Floyd simply toyed with him. Floyd's counter punching and pot shotting style was something JMM hadn't seen and it appeared to me didnt have a plan to deal with.

"If Cotto has ANYTHING left he will beat the hell of out of Floyd"? LOL seriously? I think some people make posts to hear themselves talk so to speak. It is so interesting to me that every time there is an upcoming Floyd fight (or a Klitschko fight for that matter), everyone says this is the guy, this is the style to beat him, etc. etc. etc. I think it is because of the hatred toward Floyd for his antics/mouth that forces these comments to come up. People just hate arrogance especially when it is mixed with dominance. Floyd will eventually lose if he keeps fighting and one day someone will beat him, but I highly doubt it will be Cotto. Floyd has fought people faster than Cotto, bigger than Cotto, harder hitters than Cotto, people with better defense than Cotto, better boxers than Cotto and people with better chins than Cotto. So what exactly will Cotto be doing to Floyd that has not been done/attempted before? Enlighten me on his strategy? Is he going to cut off the ring, push Floyd to the ropes, bully him, rough him up (like Baldomir, Hatton & Ortiz tried)? Is he going to outbox him (like Judah, Castillo, ODLH & JMM tried)? Is he going to try to use power punching to stop him (like Corrales, Gatti & Mosley tried)? Use his bigger size, heavier weight to wear him down (like ODLH and Ortiz tried)? None of this is an insult to Cotto, he is a great fighter, but I see nothing that Cotto brings that Floyd has not faced before.
