Yeah, lol, it was 5 years ago. Roger speaks from memory, not from the internet or Boxrec. He says ****** things some times, but he's usually right on point with his predictions, even when everyone disagrees with him, the joke ends up being on every one else who was laughing at him.

Agreed, though i had it 7-5 to Floyd. Oscars height was a big factor in making the fight competitive. Floyd is a better body attacker than Oscar, as Oscar became head hunter later in career. I'm actually picking Cotto to win this fight. Now will I bet against Floyd? Heck NO, but i with the size, and Cotto being a monster at attacking the body, a Hopkins Oscar (even though B Hop is a CW/LHW pretty much) scenario is not out of the question. Ive never gone against Floyd, but he looked sluggish against Ortiz, and Cotto will be more active than Oscar was. Odds are that I am dead wrong, and Floyd wins by wide margin via UD, but I thats just what i feel right now, and i reserve the right to change my mind.

Just Oscar's height was the advantage? What about the weight?! De La Hoya came in around 170/171 lbs on fight night. While Floyd came in around 152. That is quite an advantage in size. That's over 20 lbs. Very few talk about this.

That's funny because I have also had that fight 7-5 Floyd. I switch a lot from 8-4 to 7-5 Floyd. Just shows how close that fight really was.

Floyd surprised me with the way he looked against Ortiz, I thought he would look worse. He actually was moving pretty quick and his handspeed was there. Ortiz is big at 165lbs, taller than other WW's at 5' 9", he's a southpaw, has an aggressive style, and a lot of power to boot. I thought, minus the controversy, Floyd handled him pretty well, he also handled DLH pretty well.

Cotto doesn't have the attributes that Ortiz and DLH have, they are taller and have around the same reach as Floyd, they were bigger on fight night, and Cotto just doesn't have any of these key things. Cotto is short, shorter than Mayweather at least, Cotto has about the same reach as Ricky Raptor Arms Hatton, give or take an inch. And Cotto is not that big at JMW. If memory serves me right, Floyd has like a 5 or 6 inch reach advantage over Cotto. Which is a ridiculous advantage to have over some one, when you fight the way Floyd fights. With that kind of reach advantage and boxing ability, with the small height advantage to go with that, Floyd can actually just easily Klitschko Cotto, just outpoint him to an easy decision. You don't understand just how much is a 5-6 inch reach advantage for some one like Floyd, there are other boxers around Floyd's weight class with his same reach, but the problem comes in with the way Floyd fights and uses it. Floyd has the advantage over Cotto in just about every category except power. Which has been proven to be a non-issue to Floyd.

Agreed! But keep in mind too, while Ortiz was 165 lbs on fight night, Floyd was around 150 on fight night. That's a clear 15 lbs advantage in size. And yet Floyd was still the aggressor and backing Ortiz up! And if you look at a lot of Floyd's fight, many of his opponents outweight him quite a bit on fight night. The size advantages opponents have over Floyd is rarely discussed.

The whole Floyd was backing up Ortiz was not really consistent in the fight. Floyd would spend a few seconds coming forward then Ortiz would come forward. Plus Floyd missed quite a bit, and was hitting glove quite a bit. Not saying Floyd wasnt up (i had him up 2-1 at the time), and definitely would not favored Ortiz to win down the strech by any means. What Cotto lacks in physical compared to Ortiz, he makes up with ring smarts. Ortiz is a very willing target, and not the tech that Cotto is. While your spot on with your assessment of Cotto.....he has a bigger chance than most are giving him.

I suspect it will backfire for everyone. Bradley will give Manny all he can handle and Floyd will win a hard fought, UD, taking lumps he hasn't felt in ages.

Floyd protects his body very well and he'll be prepared for Cotto's attacks in that zone too. Also, while Cotto is a great puncher, his punches doesn't really surprise you because they'll come from traditional angles. I don't think he'll land anything significant from the outside. Floyd will see those shots before Cotto throws them, feint and then counter. Cotto needs to pressure constantly he can land something big and make Floyd uncomfortable. Easier said than done!

Cotto's only chance to maintain in this fight is to keep his great jab going. Oscar made it a though fight for Floyd because he used his jab very well. He had one of the best jabs in boxing and as soon as he abandoned it the fight was lost and Floyd took over.

I'll be surprised if Floyd fights aggressively from the first bell. I think they'll feel each other out in the first couple of rounds and then Floyd will slowly control the fight. After the 6th-7th round it's all Mayweather.
