The result of that fight set of an almost perfect chain of events for Top Rank and Golden Boy. The only card that didn't fall into place was Jacobs in his failed attempt to accept a title that was being handed to him; or so we thought.

It raises the question; Had Pavlik won that fight, what would the status of 154 and 160 be right now? Sergio probably would have went back down and campaigned at 154, hanging on to his WBC title (or who knows it might have been stripped from him for losing to Pavlik) Manny probably would have never had a chance to win a 154 LB title.

Either way, Pavlik winning that fight would have = Chavez and Canelo with no belts right now; unless Kelly went to 168

So if Sergio has anyone to blame for the Chavez fight not happening, it is himself (please nobody take that seriously)
