maidana had only one real fight last year. he didn't want to fight morales on star power or bradley on pac card, and then guerrero pulled out with an injury. that long layoff made him soft.
he should stay at lww where he belongs.
alexander fought a good, smart fight although i'm not sure because he's that good, or because maidana failed to show up.

I think the 10 round thing was a ***** move from Alexander, but it wouldn't have made a difference. Maidana didn't seem to have much power near the end and was more tired than Alexander.

You can go on and name fights that had no title on the line and were 12 rounds, but non title fights are 10 rounders.

I didn't see the fight by I did wonder how much 147 would affect both. Surprised tbh since Maidana is better than Matthyse in my eyes.
From the posts, looks like Alexander was holding excessively, which is completely illegal ffs. I know the khan hatred were hating on him vs maidana for holding.

I guess he shouldn't be at 140 because he looked like hot garbage against Corley, lets be realistic here, one doesn't need much of a defense to defend against Maidana. Alexander's defense which I consider average, even I saw that it would be good enough for Maidana. Weight didn't have much to do with it as Maidana's physique looked good when looking at some of the training photos. The man simply has too many flaws, slow, wide looping punches, opposite of Matthysse.

At their experience and level, particularly title holder level, it's usually 12 rounders.

147 is a better weight for Maidana. His game plan was horrible and his corner amateur.

The whole fight he didn't lead with a left to the body when coming in. Maybe he doesn't know how. In either case it's embarrassing.
