I think the 10 round thing was a ***** move from Alexander, but it wouldn't have made a difference. Maidana didn't seem to have much power near the end and was more tired than Alexander.

He should get credit because he looked good, except for the incessant holding. Maidana looked even slower and more sloppy than normal almost to the point of being a has been. He certainly has lost a lot of credibility in my eyes.

At what point does Maidana become liable for simply not being better than Alexander? Marquez did well against Pacquiao two divisions above his weight. Ditto Hopkins-Tarver, Floyd-Oscar, Sergio-P-Will/Pavlik, and the list goes on.

And to add onto what another posted said about them both coming from 140, Maidana was the bigger guy according to fight night weight.

we know what thwe hbo anouncers say and all the blacks they think alexander is some big thing, clearly maidana shouldnt be at 147 and clearly alexander fought dirty and the ref helped him

Yup, that was a lot of holding done by Alex. Maidana couldn't get going. Smart on Alex's part because he got away with it but made for a one sided fight ... so not so good from a fan stand point.

Without that holding it could have been a much more entertaining fight. Still, it was a good performance by Alex.
