Craic lad - Who did Quillin beat??? The same guy Lee did except he did it with ease and earlier than Lee and didn't have to go life and death. You have to be brain dead to think that having a "fair shot" means you pull out of a fight on a major network against a top fighter over a pipe dream. The only guarantee Lee had was with a signed agreement for MAJOR TV exposure against a top fighter and HE BLEW IT!!! That is not a gamble, that is pure unadultrated ******ITY! He will be lucky if Showtime ever lets him come back. Get a clue if you have to beg, borrow, or steal one.

Also you have got 4 Irish connected fighters on that card so as much as Lee was the one they were going for its not as if they will have no one to cheer.Matthew Macklin's parent's are both irish and he spent alot off time here and was very good at hurling a local game to Ireland so stop acting as if the fans have no one to cheer

I have already spoken to people who paid money on flights and accomodations that were burned, just like Showtime. COMMON SENSE - a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush and Lee took a BAD gamble and made himself look like a damn fool.

Get over it Lee went power punching mad after the first round when he staggered him but was it a poor performance?yes it was but he mad up for it by shutting out a resurgent Vera.A pipe dream?Dibella obviously told him it was something more but i forgot Andy does what he wants regardless off what Dibella says.Anyway its HBO and if you think they wont bring a young Irish punching contender back just because off this?then you need a clue

And they dont care for supporting Macklin?A top hurler (an irish sport) in his day.I dont like Matthew but apart from his accent he is as every bit as Irish as Andy who was English born but Irish bred

Nobody is afraid of Jr. Nobody is ducking Jr. You can find guys to fight Jr. on short notice, with short training, and for short money. Jr. is an easy payday. What kind of champion is this?

You are beyond clueless if you think burning a network and fans WITHOUT a signed shot is the smart thing to do. It does NOT get any more ****** than that.

Why do you keep on saying Showtime? Martinez-Macklin is on HBO. And he'll always have a spot in a Martinez undercard because of Dibella. Not to mentioned he trains with HBO Commentator Emmanuel Steward. Plus he's the front runner for Chavez.

There are people who CANCELLED their flights and accomodations because Lee pulled out. Let that happen to you and see how smug you are then. What goes around comes around and it was POETIC justice when Sturm turned him down. That was a joy to hear about.
