I had 7-5 Huck but there was plenty of swing. Tactics and the ref stand out. Povetkin winning on the cards is the least of the problems in the ring there.
Povetkin had some help from that ref. Povetkin was ducking and the ref was blaming Huck every time!!!
Are you kidding? For most the fight Huck was holding his head down with his left and throwing massive rights to the back of Povetkin's head and neck. He should have had points deducted and disqualified multiple times over.
Towards the end of the fight when Sasha was very tired he was doing it on his own but that's besides the point.
In the clinches early on he would throw a right to the body while headbutting.

I scored 7:5 for Huck.
I think Povetkin's ducking (which Teddy developed into him) made him look very bad. Had he not ducked the impressions might have been quite different.
Povetkin used to have great stamina -- I wonder what happened to that.
Getting blasted in the back of the head and neck 40 times may have had something to do with it.

Bending over below your opponent's waist and diving in below his arms all night will do that. Povetkin caused 90% of the back of the head action. Learning to slip a shot without mashing face to cup all night is a good idea.

I was watching this one on EPIX and all 3 commentators agreed with me including Freddie Roach. It was obvious.
You tell me that you didn't see Povetkin ducking all night long? It took time but Huck finally realized that he should be uppercutting when Povetkin did that. Still the ref was way too involved in that fight ... and it helped the tired and ducking Povetkin.

Well he can thank Teddy for that brilliant addition. Seriously though the majority of times Huck shoved his head down with his forearm then bombs with his right hand.

I have eyes. At the end of the fight yes he was doing it on his own but most the fight Huck shoves it down with his forearms. First 6 rounds he did that 5+ times each round. He should have been disqualified.

Povetkin was bending under the arm. What's Huck supposed to do? Step back and wait for Povetkin to stand up or just let him fall over? I'd have laughed at the latter actually. Old school refs would have told him to buck up and quit laying his head out. There's nothing wrong with making your opponent sorry for a sorry tactic.
Pabon should have warned both instead of going one way. As the fight wore on, Huck mostly just leaned and waited for the break to avoid a deduction and got better with the 'cut tries. I saw little wrong with what Huck did. It's a cheap way to try and draw fouls. Ruiz used to do it and whine all the time.

It's a fight.
You're so off base it isn't even funny. From the clinch he would force his head down, hold it down with his forearm, then throw a hard rights like he always does. Watch the first 6 rounds and try telling me that again. Huck does it in most his fights.

I saw Povetkin bend down while rights were already on their way as well. There was a little of both. I think Povetkin caused most of it by leaning waist and sub-waist in the first place. He wasn't pulling his head down from chest level. He was pushing when it was already there. Like I said, what was he supposed to do? Just let Povetkin jock sniff and hug him at waist level.
