For me the Haye-Chisora “skirmish” was utterly irrelevant and meaningless. What was it exactly? Oh, it was two men using their bodies to promote themselves, uh, basically what fighters do all the time. How can I gain respect for someone who gets in a fist fight with a guy on a losing streak?

I could only respect Haye if he came back and fought the top fighters in the ring, where it counts. If it’s out of the ring it starts going more towards a circus kind of environment. Boxing is about discipline and preparation, what Haye and Chisora were involved in was more UFC than IBF.

I may be old fashion but to me, respect is earned and it isn’t freely bestowed because of cheap theatrics.

            Haye proved two things:

A: He is much quicker than Vitali

B: He hits harder too. Accomplished in 2 punches what Vitali couldnt do with 200.

-And he did it as a mere Civilian.;Untrained and retired from boxing.

I dont think the Wlad fight should be held against him, he had a bad night. Haye's still young (only 26 pro fights) and its not like he was lit up by a golfer. His loss is more respectable than Vitalis quit job and Wlads 3 defeats to journeymen.
