Say the Klits were gone, then someone like Eddie Chambers would be a champ do you think people would care i dont, with Hws we want destruction.
What would a undisputed American Heavyweight Champion do for Boxing today?

It would only raise Boxing's profile in the States. It is irrelevant of what country has an undisputed HW Champ. It's important for Boxing, itself that there is an undisputed Champ. Although, I doubt the WBA would allow it...Comment

If the champ is an exciting knockout guy who fights regularly against other well matched opponents and promotes himself well then I'd say it'd help the division, and boxing in general, at least in the States. Seriously though, a badass is a badass. Aside from Vittles, none of the Eastern Europeans are really bad men with the possible exception of Pulev and Szpilka. Povetkin is a pansy, Boytsov is a bum beater, Dimitrenko is a giant blond baby. It might not be classy or respectable but I'd rather a few more Chisoras in the division to ****e things up. Like I said, I don't care where they come from.Comment

Seeing as the K bros get the highest TV ratings for boxing on HBO and seem to be the only other boxers outside of Manny and May who trend up online in the US when they fight ... I'm pretty sure having a US boxer in their position would at the very least double the ratings and attention paid.
Currently NBC is getting back into boxing in a small way so far. Along with the cable company comcast they have begun to invest serious money into building the next great American HW champ. They have actually stated the reason NBC stopped showing boxing in the first place was because HBO kept offering high pay days they couldn't keep up with. Now NBC will use outside money from comcast to keep their draw to themselves. They know the difference it will make.Comment

if some incredible young talent like Mike Tyson suddenly burst on the scene knocked the snot of of everybody and took out both brothers in say (berbick and spinks style) to unify the belts it would do wonders for the sports popularity. If some medicore eddie chambers or something struggled his way to the belts after the brothers retire it wouldn't do ****Comment

Quite funny you mention that, cause I always imagine Mitchell as the undisupted champion after the K's retire.
Yeah...no question boxing will become a lot more popular, especially the heavyweights and many of them title defenses getting hyped up with huge PPV numbers. To become really popular the champion also should look like a champion, I'm talking handsome in shape guys like Mitchell or Wilder contrary to guys like Chambers or Arreola (not hating, both great fighters). I can see the champ on magazine covers and invited to Letterman, Kimmel or Larry King regularly, the same that would happen now if the brothers were from the states. That will probably happen if an American manages to unify the division.Comment

More Chisoras and fewer Hayes and you'd be surprised how the division picks up......regardless of where they come from. Say what you want about Chisora the dude brings it and doesn't run up a white flag after a couple of rounds. He comes to at least TRY and win and that's what people want to see.If the champ is an exciting knockout guy who fights regularly against other well matched opponents and promotes himself well then I'd say it'd help the division, and boxing in general, at least in the States.
