What would a undisputed American Heavyweight Champion do for Boxing today?

Note: I'm a fan of both Klit bros and respect all they have done.

    But like the question says.

Doesn't matter who. Lets say Seth Mitchell becomes Champ after the Bros retire.

    What happens?

    Hurt, help or indifferent?

    "Boxing" or boxing in America?

If a guy like Mitchell becomes a undisputed HW champ then the HW division would be beyond garbage.

I dont think it would get crazy attention tho

        Undoubtedly help in the US.

As to whether it would draw interest from elsewhere around the globe depends upon fighting style, an exciting champion would draw interest from everywhere.

depends on how entertaining they are. If they bring excitement, it would be awesome for boxing. There would be a ton of hype and media coverage. If he's boring, that hype would certainly decline with time.

Idk what it would do but American media loves to judge how Boxing is doing by the heavyweight division. I am too young to ever remember when the heavyweight division was stacked. My favorite divisions are Welterweight, Light Middleweight and Super Middleweight.

Put it this way, a great knockout fighter is going to excite everyone no matter where he's from. Look at Pacquiao. Maybe he's not what everyone would call a great knockout fighter, but he is very entertaining and can sell out arenas here in the states. If the Klitschko's were that exciting, they'd be right up there or even above Pacquiao. Same thing goes for fighters here. We've had our share of HW champions that no one made a big deal about. That said, we do tend to favor our fighters, but that happens in every country.

Well boxing, especially HW boxing is doing pretty well in Europe.

But if a fighter, like lets say Wilder rises through the ranks, getting attention the sure people would care.

But if he is a mediocre HW with so-so wins and maybe a loss and then luckily KO's Vlad, then no i dont think so. He will be like a HW Sergio, quick on the scene and no support

I guess a Eddie Chambers reign might not be received as well as let us say a Arreola reign.

If you had a Tyson straight killin people or an american HWT with some charisma then things would be fine. There is nothing entertaining about the HWT division right now. The Klits need a american black Gerry Cooney the way Larry Holmes needed the real one.
