The idea Marciano has more in common with LPRR than other QB fighters is older than I am. This is a case of context. No on praises him for boxing skills, but he does get praised by fighters, trainers, and writers for his ability to succeed using dead techniques.



I'll give one example so's this isn't god awful long. I spoke to this a few days ago. Are Marciano's feet wrong? Everyone knows Marciano's feet are wrong. Except everyone from the bare knuckle era. They'd tell you Marciano is the only one who steps correctly because everyone who steps front foot first is giving up power at any moments for running at any moment. Stepping with the front foot then bringing the back foot up is defensive foot work. It's neither right nor wrong but if all you judge everything by is defense first then it becomes so. What Marciano gained from being devoid of running is pretty obvious. Others can run away easier but Marciano can drop KO punches literally in any exchange and does it.


This isn't my opinion, it's not an opinion at all. It's simple fact and I'm not the first dude to point it out. They've been writing about how and why Rocky did everything wrong and still won since Marciano was champ.

Marciano would have been a cruiserweight smaller than Holyfield, literally fighting an ATG HW who is almost a Super HW. I mean really.

Marciano if anything gets stopped on cuts . There’s little way he gets through Lewis 84 inch reach he had a thunderous over hand right . It’s not even Marciano, I think if Lewis hit anyone clean under 200 pounds with his right hand they are going to sleep or so hurt it’s over . Realistically you would have to lend Marciano a pair of magical shoes that possess the ability’s to dodge extremely quickly in and out ,only a prime Mike Tyson around that size has a chance .

Posters who think Marciano wins really aren’t pitting a guy with a 68 inch reach vs an 84 inch one . That’s just massive .
