Holyfield-Toney... TKO 9. Old old Holyfield. Weak small Toney.

Lewis' great size and power advantage is offset by Toney because Toneys power at heavy is dismal.
i rate him as having 1 of the best chins ever and def the most heart ever

I see your point, I just think Toneys punch and small size offsets the better but older Holyfield that went against a much taller and much stronger Lewis.

The Holyfield that fought Toney was twice as punch drunk, 40 years old, his reflexes (ability to avoid punches) and ability sustain an attack had gone way down hill.

Toney fought a much more faded and ill equiped Evander.

I wonder when Runwithknives is going to come in and talk about how Wlad will destroy Holyfield in 4 rounds...

Or he's probably nuthugging another fighter now..

Wlad would have serious problems with Holyfield.

He could close the gap really quick and fought on the inside his whole career.

I think Holy would beat Wlad probably by stoppage.

Now is a different story of course.

The thing is Bozo, remember when Holyfield was TKOd by Toney the announcers were shocked that Toney sent Holyfield to the canvas. With good reason too, Holyfield has a great chin and I dont think his chin deteriorate nearly as fast as his reflexes and power over the years.

I don't buy into this line of thinking at all.

If you'll remember, it was a sustained beating Holyfield took and he wasn't really able to maintain any kind of attack.

Toney put him down with a body shot, that doesn't speak unfavorably about his chin.

The same Holyfield lost a near shut out to Larry Donald.

If you swapped Holyfields, and put the Holy Lewis fought in with Toney, and vice versa, Holyfield lasts the distance with Toney, and is stopped mid fight by Lewis.

I don't buy for a second there is any compairison between the Holyfield in 2000, and Holyfield in 2004. Competely differnt senarios.

Dumb question. Wlad has fought some of the biggest fighters in the division. He fought Byrd because Byrd beat his brother and held the title Wlad wanted and now Byrd holds another title Wlad wants. Wlad today is a more experienced fighter and could lay back and jab Holy to death. Holy is a gutty fighter, but really, he was terribly inconsistent and could be outboxed. Maybe the early Bowe Holy could beat today's Wlad, but maybe not.
