I don't know. Vitali is one of my favorite fighters, and my fave of the two bros, and my favorite HW for a while now. Even when he was retired for 4 years he was still my fave HW.

The reason I say IDK, it's cause I know Vitali is a very good fighter, a future Hall of Famer probably. And Chisora isn't all that, maybe he's okay and that's it.

But a Chisora win over Vitali would not make me go wow. It wouldn't make me go crazy comparing it Tyson-Douglas or anything like that. I'm aware of the odds, but Vitali is just a very good old fighter, not an all time great in his prime.

I fully expect Vitali to win and all, but him losing a fight to one of these Heavyweights don't really get my attention. Some one like Ward, Hopkins, Calzaghe(when he was active) going up to HW and beating a Klit would impress me more than Chisora beating a Klitschko.

That would probably be the single greatest achievement in the sport of boxing if it happened.

      What could possibly topple that?

To me, a topic like this is like discussing your odds of survival when locked in a cage with a man-eating tiger. It's just not worth even considering.... lol

I'm sure it would be viewed as HUGE in Germany/Ukraine. The rest of the world? Not as much. It would be an upset for sure, but wouldn't move the meter at all in way Tyson-Douglas did on the global sporting scene. If he lost today, and it's unlikely, there would be a wave of reevaluation of Vitali because, and his fans hate to admit this, his resume is kiddie pool shallow. Even at 40, Vitali can't afford to lose to anyone on the current scene without that happening because it's all so visibly mediocre. This is the worst ten years at Heavyweight since the 30s.

Jones already did that. Against Ruiz, but he did it, at least the weight jumping part and beating a champ.

The point of the post had to do more with Vitali being old, and a loss against a top fighter in his division is not impossible at this point. For me to exaggerate like everyone is doing with what a Chisora win would be like, it has to be something like that to impress me, another top fighter from a lower division beating Vitali. Or at least an unranked HW, not unranked, but outside the top 10.

                Chisora isn't ranked though.

He's a novice with less than 20 fights under his belt, early defeats coming to fellow prospects Tyson Fury and Robert Helenius. Maybe novice is a strong word to use, but he's not a contender in this division at the moment and lacks any experience against tested heavyweight fighters.

He has no amateur pedigree or visible potential to be anything in the division. I think it's a huge shock if Chisora pulls off the win.

It would be big. I heard he's anywhere from an 8-1 underdog to a 4-1 dog. I believe Hasim Rahman was a 4-1 underdog against Lennox Lewis. If Chisora won, it would be somwhat similar to that. This has a Rahman-Lewis I/Ali-Spinks I feel about it.

The biggest heavyweight upsets (according to oddsmakers) were:

                  Douglas-Tyson
                  Braddock-Baer
                  Clay-Liston I
                  Spinks-Ali I
                  Ali-Foreman
                  Rahman-Lewis I

So Chisora-Klitschko would be top five or six all-time.

The BIGGEST Upset in boxing history would've been Axel Shulz over George Foreman, had the judges given the fight to Axel. I remember he was a bigger longshot than Douglas.

After Spinks upset Ali, Scott LeDoux (who fought Spinks to a draw) answered his phone: "Scott LeDoux, uncrowned heavyweight champion." I could see Tyson Fury doing something similar.

But compare pre-Lewis Rahman to pre-Vitali Chisora. Rahman has a good amount of fights for experience, has some solid names on his resume - What does Chisora have?

Rahman was more like 14 or 18-1 on Lewis. I remember because I thought hard about driving to Nevada to make a bet. Schultz got hosed bad. Odds wise, this would be big.

How it would be remembered would likely depend on where you lived.
