Height plays a role when debating fighter advantages from an objective perspective. Why not bring it up and make **** more interesting?
It doesn't always have to be by the 'book'.Comment

If he loses, he's still a special fighter to me. He's in a win-win situation here. If he loses, he just lost to the way bigger man+Ring #1 Lightweight, and jumped two weight classes. Then he goes down to 130 with his 1 loss to the best LW(after Marquez the LW champ of course).
If he wins, well all hell will break lose for Gamboa's career. He'll be kinda like Pac when he beat Diaz. Only instead of fighting one of the whackest LW's, he fought the best one, #1 LW.
Rooting for Gamboa on this one, I hope he wins for boxing's sake. If he wins, boxing will have one of the few true top 10 P4P fighters along with Mayweather, Ward, Martinez, and Marquez.Comment

Close to 20 pounds? Gamboa is pretty stocky dude. Also was draining himself at 126 to get big fights. He should be at 130. That's where he started at. He really is moving up one weight-class.
Also going down in weight is tougher than going up. If Rios is truly that much bigger, then that means he would be weaker making the weight, where Gamboa might be stronger.Comment

I'm with you on most everything. If Gamboa loses in OUR eyes he is still a special fighter, however I feel he'll take a serious hit and would have to have major W -run @ 126-130 to be recognized again. It's a gamble. If he loses, he's still a special fighter to me. He's in a win-win situation here. If he loses, he just lost to the way bigger man+Ring #1 Lightweight, and jumped two weight classes.
