Okay, I just watched the fight again and I still feel the same way. Don't get me wrong I do believe that Ward won the fight. However, in case you haven't notice Froch is not very good. His technique is horrible he is slow and his power is way overrated and he is there to be hit and hit often. I honestly thought that Ward would easily dominate Froch. But other than for a couple of rounds I just never felt that Ward really ever did that. I think that at times Ward looked very sloppy and he was winging arm punches. And I will say it again I am really not all that impressed with Ward. I also believe that anyone who thinks that Ward will simply walk through Bute is going to be in for a big surprise.

This would be a good fight and we can finally find out if Bute is any good at this level. On the other hand how the **** can Abraham be ranked higher than Froch in the IBF rankings just goes to show how w*nk all these sanctioning bodies are.Comment

As far what is concerned his boxing skills? Froch's fundamental boxing skills are horrible he is also no wear near as good as Bute. And I believe it will show when the two fight. Or may I simplify it a bit, I believe Froch is way overrated and Bute is way underrated.Comment

As far as Bute's resume is concerned. It's easy to look good when you're crushing tomato cans. Let's see what happens when he's in there with a world class fighter who isn't over 40.Comment

I guess it depends on what your definition of tomato can happens to be. With that said let us look at Bute's resume. In his last 11 fights 3 of his opponents were ranked in the top 10 by Ring magazine. Out of the other 8 opponents most of them were hovering around or maybe even cracking Boxrec's top ten. If I remember correctly Mendy was the only who was not. And honestly I am also not sure where Joppy happened to be ranked at the time they fought. But, he was a three time champ and he was still in his mid 30s. And if I remember correctly it Bute's 1st defense. So, I have to ask is your definition of tomato can any fighter that is not ranked at least 6 best in the world and above?
And as far as fighters being over 40 the only fighter that Bute fought that was over 40 was? You guessed it, Johnson, the same fighter that Froch happened to have fought in the Super 6. Also, out Boxrec's top ten as it stands now 6 of the fighters were tied up in the Super 6 and then you have Bute and a couple of other fighters. So, I have to ask another question. With all those top 10 Super Middleweights tied up in the Super 6 who was Bute supposed to have fought?Comment

My definition of a tomato can is someone like Jesse Brinkley or William Joppy (especially at the time he fought Bute.)
And you can look at Bute's resume all you want, there is no one on there of the caliber of Carl Froch. Who is young AND world class.
If you think Carl "is not very good" then I don't know what to tell you.....but if that's the case then you can't possibly consider anyone on Bute's resume very good either then.
I understand that the Super Six tied up a lot of the top competition at 168 and that. But the tournament is over now.Comment

Okay, by your definition two out the eleven were tomato cans. I also agree, and you are right Bute's resume could be better. But, I don't necessarily blame him. Simply because it was hard for him to fight the best when they were wrapped up in a tournament that he was not involved with. And I will also say tha you can all pick apart Bute's resume if he now ducks these fighters. But in fairness shouldn't we also take a look at a closer look at Froch's resume? My definition of a tomato can is someone like Jesse Brinkley or William Joppy (especially at the time he fought Bute.)

In my opinion Froch lost in every way to Dirrell except on the home town score cards. Honestly, it was one of worst decisions I have seen, and I am in no way a Dirrell fan. He also needed a last round knock out to win against Taylor. And these days Taylor most likely needs head gear to go out on a windy day, and I for one hope he stays retired. He also lost to Kessler in a fight that I didn't think was all that close. But, I have to admit that I don't like Froch. And that was after the Dane had his a$$ handed to him by Ward. And also Kessler was coming off all those managerial problems. Froch also didn't look like much of a world beater against 40 plus Johnson. And then there was King Arthur. Abraham laid an absolutely turd in the two fights in the tournament that I watched. He did absolutely nothing for 22 rounds and when I say that I personally don't think, for what ever reason, he ever even tried to do anything. So, it is not all that unrealistic that Froch could have 4 losses on his resume.
But, in reality all this was really unnecessary because if I really wanted to know who the better fighter was between Bute and Froch all I had to do was watch them fight. And than process it through my brain for a few minutes and the scales always lean towards Bute, big time.Comment
