So what is the context in which we should analyze Canelo's age from? A young inexperienced prospect who has a belt? or a young champion who should be fighting the top guys in his weight-class?
Then again, we have to look at who Tyson beat to become the champion he was at 20.

Though Cotto may have fought more big names and been more proven, Canelo is a young 21... he is a NATURAL 154lber, he has heavy hands and is explosiveness, and his patience shows in the ring. He's much bigger than Cotto and hits a lot harder imo.

I think that fight is incredibly competitive.
I'm with you on that one man, Cotto has had a great career, but he is on the downside of it. Floyd clearly knows this and it did play a role in why he chose to face him now. As for Canelo, I don't really know why people think a 31 yo Cotto would beat him easy, given Canelo is not all that good now, but he is very live and much bigger than Cotto, If you really look at it, Canelo is very similar to a younger Cotto with his relentless pressure and body attack, minus the jab Cotto throws that floyd will be countering all night come may 5th.

Any decent fighter looks good against sh¡ttyer fighters(just like R.Jones) & to tell u the truth canelo doesn't even look that good against them.

Look, I don't **** on Canelo as much bc I know he turned pro young with very few AM bouts. He is still very young and can increas his comp over time -- the only stick in peoples asses is that he is such a huge star. **** it. So to me comparing their comp at their age is silly, two different careers. Cotto has an AM background, and a very strong and extensive one at that. Cotto is a million times better than Canelo is technical wise, the only thing is that Canelo is naturally bigger. He struggled Vs Gomez who Cotto sparred with for a few rounds before KNOCKING HIM THE **** OUT, years ago. Cotto whips this guys ass any day of the week.

Cotto barely started his career at 21. He was brought up through the amateurs. Canelo like chavez, not so much.

you can't be a villain without destroying anything. all villains destroy.........most villains are great at what they do. even fighters.......floyd is a villain.......lord voldemort is a villain. freeza is a villain........ (all masterful fighters)

you have to have the abilities to back up your attitude.

canelo is a BUM with little to no abilities TRYING to be a villain but failing miserably haha

Tyson beat Trevor Berbick at 20 to win a world title. Canelo beat Matthew Hatton for a world title.

Canelo can't be compared to Mike Tyson. Canelo is a champion because he is popular not because of his skills or accomplishments. Canelo has some potential but he has no business being mentioned as an opponent of Mayweather at the moment, aside from the fact that Canelo is a popular cash cow.

Sorry man Floyd is not as fast as he once was, though very accurate, Ortiz was making him miss a lot of shots. Ortiz also rarely ever uses his jab. Cotto's jab is not Mosley's weak flicker of a jab. It is quick and strong and Cotto triples that *****. Cotto is not letting this pass up -- PLD in his training camp too -- pretty sure they're going to learn to avoid the right counter as it's Floyd's biggest weapon. And when he does that and hits Floyd with combos, hurting him, Floyd is in for a looooong night.
