The Oscar Floyd fought was past his prime. He was nearing the end of his career because when he fought Steve Forbes before fighting Pacquaio, he was done.

The Oscar that fought Manny was not only past it but extremely weight drained.

So Floyd fought the better version of Oscar.

End of thread move the *** on.

I didn't and ironically I was called a *******. Weird how that works. As Roach made it clear, they took the fight because Hoya was shot to pieces. They knew for a fact he was no risk.

The truth was perfectly clear when after fighting at WW once before, they needed Cotto at a CW because Hoya was of no threat and a CW was not warranted. They need a catchweight to get an advantage. They already had every advantage going into the Hoya fight as Hoya was done and Roach made it known that he was. Does everyone forget leading into the fight, Hoya had IV holes in his arms? lol It was a joke, but in a business sense it made a lot of dollars and cents! Bob is smart.

no version of oscar would beat floyd----floyd chased oscar up to 154---he called him out his whole career--where are you people getting your opinions from? oscar waited until floyd looked slow to accept his challenge--and the fight was not a sd--it was a one sided fight---kazmerick should have been fired---i gave oscar 3 rounds and he barley won those rounds-lol--

he took floyd up to 154 and floyd had to weigh at least 150 during the weigh in---he thought he could bully floyd because of how floyd fought tata---well, he was bullied and staggered a few times by floyd who i thought could have stopped oscar in round 5---

i guess that sums up who fought the better oscar also huh? floyd did obviously----he fought the better mosley and hatton---and hatton ducked floyd openly at 140 lbs back in 2004-2006---so did cotto--well, arum was to blame for that mainly---

Lol, ok you picked Pac to win. But the majority of the boxing world and this site picked Oscar to easily win. Everyone looked at it as an easy cherry pick for Oscar to make some money and leave on a high note. As for the weight come on you can't put that on Pac's team. Pac was moving up from 135 and Oscar explored the fight with Pac at 147.

Its revisionist history with these fights... what really put Pac on such a high level was because of the 3 fights Oscar, Hatton, and Cotto where he just blew everyone away. No one expected him to beat Oscar and he killed him, Hatton was a tough fight for Pac, then he just blew him away, the cotto fight (regardless of the CW, obviously a CW is ****** but Cotto came into most of his WW fights at 146 are we really gonna discredit Pac's performance completely on 1 pound?) was a big test for him. He was finally fighting a big WW that was still young had power and a threat (I remember there were people saying that fight was Arum's attempt to get Cotto to be a superstar with a win over Pac because Pac was rumored to retire soon after be elected). Then Pac again blew Cotto away.

If you wanna talk shit on Pacquiao's recent fights go right ahead, in fact I'll join you with it because he has been very unimpressive or risky as of late. But dont try and discredit that year period where he took the boxing world by storm because that was truly impressive.

I'm not discrediting it or saying it is Pac's fault about De La Hoya. I just like to PERFECTLY correct fools by saying that I did not like the De La Hoya fight and thought it was a joke.

Just like the Hatton fight. I thought that was an even bigger joke. The only fight since JMM II that impressed me was Cotto and that pissed me off because the coward needed a catchweight. Which ultimately made me pick against him just for the fact of the cowardly CW. That fight was the only fight I have ever picked agiasnt Pac (besides when Pac first fought JMM) and I give him credit for it.

However, Pac since the Cotto CW win has been complete and utter garbage... and as of late, a ***ing disgrace.

actually bro they did not have every advantage going in to the dela hoya fight, imho they have every chance to do what Pac did, as past it as dela hoya was that time majority of boxing expert and fans thought size advantage, plus the skill he showed versus mayweather is to much for pacquiao to handle and was labelling the fight as a mis match in oscar's favor and lot calling it a cherry pick by delahoya instead of going for winner of cotto-margarito...

prior the fight although I thought Pac could win at the same time I was afraid he could get his head knocked off by Oscar, the fight was no joke for team pacquiao, they gambled and won big time...

as per cotto CW it was not for advantage more on evening the odds of fighting a real WW for the first time...

you did not like dela hoya & hatton fight prior it being made? for what reason bro? dela hoya, hatton fights made Pac the star that he is now, hatton a lot more significant being lineal jrWW and undefeated at the weight, at WW Clottey was 3rd best choice outside mayweather & mosley at that time....

presently Brdaley is legit opponent ...

You make way too much sense and clearly have watched too much boxing to post on this site.

WTF are you doing here? Picking on the *******s?

                  Shame on you, dude!

                  Keep up the good work.

Don't get me wrong, the De La Hoya fight was GREAT for Pac. However Roach was the one that I followed and HE is the one that convinced me early on of how bad of a fight it was going to be and just how bad De La Hoya (his fighter) was going to be.

Same with the Cotto fight, it wasn't like Cotto was at an extreme disadvantage, it was just the fact they Team Pac knew just how shot De La Hoya was that they agreed to fight at 147 but knew Cotto was not as shot and wanted that little extra advantage.

Out of spite, I picked Cotto and since then do not like Pac nor have I been impressed and do not give him an ounce of credit for his pathetic and disgraceful wins vs bums.
