NO. I'm referring to individuals with similar back stories, I.E. Harvard/Ivy league, cut numerous times, sent to developmental league and now is a starting point guard for one of the bigger market teams. Name names....

No you dont quite see my point at all. Pac has to do those things to stay relevant, has to go mainstream media and piggyback. Nice guys finish last.

Floyd is a one man hype machine. He doesnt need to kiss ass and play their game. Gets **** done his own way, say what you want about him (it helps him actually lol) but you cant deny his success and drawing power. The man makes insane money pretty much anytime he wants.

Its not a matter of belief. Its a matter of acceptance. His ability to make money and get people to watch is based on an opinion.

Like it or not, there are somethings that you cant change no matter how bad you hate man.

          Get over it bro.

It's all good for some to have an opinion & state the facts or whats on your mind. But if you are cursed from birth like most athletes of color you can't speak your mind without the world coming after you for not kissing the MAN"S A$$. I feel Floyd's words about Lin are nothing but the truth, if you look at black ball players in the NBA that have done what he's doing now without getting a sports plug on ESPN. Lin is not doing anything special of otherwise more flashy then AI, Dr. J, MJ, Magic the list goes on. But since he's not black the sports world want everyone to stand up & take a good look. If I had to privileges to speak with Floyd I'd tell him what he already knows. THE SPORTS WRITERS CAN ALL KISS MY ENTIRE BLACK A$$ IF THEY DON'T LIKE WHAT I SAID.
Unless your argument is that none of those guys ever received any kind of ink (never mind in droves), then I do not at all see your point. And if you're comparing Lin to those guys - at least three of whom are among the GOAT - then either the hype is justified, or you yourself severely overrate Lin.

Take your pick, your logic is severely flawed either way.

The thing is, everyone keeps talking about the shunned black athlete who's done what Lin is presently doing, yet nobody can name ONE!

So I ask you, where all of the guys who:
            - came out of nowhere to enjoy the week he's had
            - has enjoyed the same production in his first four starts as Lin
            - has immediately turned around a team the moment he began starting

Leaving out race, education and all that other stuff, list the guys who've done as much in that same period, and who never received their due credit for it. Because so far the next name offered will be the first.

If you ever have the chance to meet and kiss up to Floyd, let him know that Lin was born in America. He still doesn't seem to quite get that part yet.

So what you're saying is mainstream is saying...oh boy there a boxer who beats on women...i wanna watch him. Or there is a boxer who is a racist ... i cant wait to see him fight. He deserves my money. What is it again that is his selling point. lol You think he draws fans due to his behavior outside the ring is selling him...and not losing fan base. Ducking fights with idiotic demands fighting ONLY once a year for the past *EIGHT* years! SURE!
you're right somethings i cannot change. More like somethings will never change.

Im telling you the same thing many others are telling you. The fact that they (meaning mainstream casuals) are saying anything at all about him is his selling point. Being a topic of discussion, look at yourself even, you talk about Floyd EVERY SINGLE DAY, yet you claim to not be a fan.

                Thats pretty interesting huh?

I know you are just playing dumb. I dont know of many people that are as flat out ****** and ignorant as you act, but like everyone else, I find putting you in your place to be entertaining. ******.

Way to spin it. What is being said is between Manny and Floyd getting media attention outside of boxing:

                  - Manny has to put more effort and time and money into his good boy persona, being a singer, congressman, possible bible champion, talk shows, etc etc. In America, Manny's media attention comes from doing things like above or talking about Floyd Mayweather.

                  - All Floyd has to do is open his mouth and/or start typing and he knows journalists, news reporters, and public media will hang on his every word. He doesn't even have to talk about boxing for people to listen to what he says. Because while Floyd has the personality of a stereotypical undefeated, arrogant prize fighter, Manny has no personality whatsoever.

As for what mainstream media is saying, its 'Oh man look at the bad guy, he's a racist bigot who is a woman beater. Good thing Oscar/Hatton/Mosley/Marquez/Ortiz is going to beat the snot out of him' and when/if Floyd beats the next opponent the same people say 'Oh, Oscar/Hatton/Mosley/Marquez/Ortiz had no chance, they were shot/too young, we'll wait till Floyd's next opponent so we can start this cycle all over again'

As for a losing fanbase Ortiz/Mayweather PPV numbers refutes that immediately. And in the case of ducking a certain someone, be fair. Both sides have idiotic demands, or do you think that they should have waited till they built that imaginary stadium that would have beer fountains and the chairs made of licorice?
