  • Mayweather takes heat over his charitable donations, so I'm shocked he hasn't been lynched over his Lin comments.

    • just a guy taking his shot when given a chance, one overlooked so much in college, where @ Harvard(guess FM will never make it there) I'm certain his 1st priority was not B ball...

The Jeremy Lin story is very good, but Kurt Warner in 1999 got even more hype because it's football, America's sport plus Warner was an undrafted 28 year old that got cut by teams like the Packers, bounced around the Arena Football league and NFL Europe and was stocking canned goods at a grocery then becomes NFL MVP, leading the Rams to a 13-3 record, winning the Superbowl, and SB MVP. Now that is the ultimate Cinderella story.

Don't get me wrong I love the Jeremy Lin story, but Warner's story was much bigger and more dramatic.

It's the same model like when he uses Pacquiao's name to promote his fights, only to duck Pacquiao at the perfect time. Classic Mayweather.

                • Except Pac's career has been made as the challenger to Floyd's throne.... Floyd's been well known for a while now. Pac got famous off Oscar and Floyd...

Anyway, I'm surprised nobody has said something like "He's just mad cuz he reminds him of Pac" lol.

Pac needs to, on principle come out wearing Lin's jersey. Would be hilarious. Pac is obligated to embrace what Floyd hates!

<__<....or maybe this is an indirect jab at Pac!

God, I'm really pulling here. :|.... now that they have opponents that aren't each other I am needing my Pac-Floyd drama. It's like that hot girl you used to date who was crazy as **** and you put up with it cuz she was fine as hell... That's what Pac-Floyd are...the hot chick you wanted so bad, finally got....and it was nothing like you thought it would be.

And for the lols, I just saw his post of him saying something like people getting mad if he cheers for someone from his country/american? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Lin american? Lol. Floyd may be a smart promoter of himself, amazing boxer and apparently good business man, but the man is the worst talker ever. What's worse is he believes his own words. At least Pac plays the ignorant/borderline ****** but nice guy role...

                  • Tbh it adds to the story but then whites use to say this in many sports too. Also trust me when the Williams sister started to get good, tennis hyped them up a he'll of a lot too, because of their story and race...

Someone should make a list of all the racist comments boxers make. Up in the list would be (in no particular order)

                      Bernard Hopkins
                      Floyd Mayweather
                      James Toney

And not technically racist, but nonetheless bigot-like, Julio César Chávez Sr loves to generalize about Ricans.

WV2 makes too many "class warfare"/class oriented comments (though some people have justifiably called this BS since he is the son of a succesful boxer), and I've always felt he is in the verge of making racist comments. Probably doesn't because he is too light skinned, and this being Puerto Rico, no one would take him seriously (a high level African influence in Rican life, both by blood and by culture).
