Guerrero beats him, and than could fight the Alexander-Maidana winner like the guy above metnioned. That'd be a good fight.

How do you know for sure Guerrero beats him? Guerrero has never even fought at 140 before.. Plus, Guerrero is not Lopez, who was pretty much the same size as Vargas, and skillful. Guerrero is much much smaller then both Lopez and Vargas, and I doubt he's fought anybody with that kind of height advantage over him. These guys are both 5'11-6' range full LW's compared to Guerrero who is just maybe 5'8 really 5'7ish, i see Vargas sparking Guerrero.. I think Vargas's trouble with Lopez had more to do with him not really being a lightweight than anything, Vargas is actually a welterweight draining himself, he's 5'11 and has a big frame and thick build, clearly no LW...

word is that he's actually moving up to Welter sooner than later, I think they were just waiting until Floyd retired or whatever so him and Vargas weren't campaigning in the same weight class, but I doubt Vargas has too many fights left in him at 140...

i'd love to see this fight. step up for vargas and tough comeback fight for guerrero. plus, if he beats jessie at 140 or 147 he'll be on mayweather's radar. hopefully it gets made, but like some said before me, he didn't want to fight paulie, what would make him fight a lesser known/credible fighter in vargas? this would be a good fight though. we'll see what happens. guerrero needs to fight someone.

I don't think that's true, didn't Guerrero fight Casamayor @ 140? Granted not a great win, given Casa is/was shot, but Rob still fought (if I'm not mistaken this was Rob's fight before taking on Katsidis)

Well ,Guerrero needs to actually fight someone soon other than calling someone out. But I realistically, don't see this fight happening.
