If Lamont wins again will people finally realize that Khan

isn't as good as his talent would lead you to believe? People had an excuse when he lost to Prescott. Whether it was weight, or a lucky punch people had that little excuse hanging from their back pocket. If he goes out and gets out gritted again there is no excuse. He was out grinded by Maidana but due to Marcos's limitations he was able to secure the victory but with Lamont he really couldn't get away with it and another loss to Lamont would really drive the nail in the coffin that Khan was a hypejob.

Thinking about it, it would show that Roach did nothing for Khan too. Yeah, his talent was grossly overrated by his countrymen but Roach never improved Khan. Khan still shows poor footwork and still has truly learn the art of punching(throwing fast combos isn't mastering punching). Roach is a poor coach strictly on he tried to make Khan something he isn't, Manny Pacquaio. A good coach adapts to the talent he is given and gets the most out of that talent.

All in all another loss to Lamont shows that Khan is just another guy. He isn't Manny, he isn't Floyd, hell he isn't even an aging Sergio Martinez. Just another decent fighter that isn't head and shoulders above the other top fighters in his division.

I have no stake in who wins or loses the rematch. I'm more interested in seeing what if any adjustments khan and roach come up with and whether Khan is able to implement them in the heat of battle to any effect

He will get props but he still has a long way to get the props of what a lot of Brits wanted to anoint him as. Remember a lot of people were saying Khan was a future top 5 p4p fighter and maybe the face of the sport in a few years. Beating Lamont in the rematch would not do that. His recent string of performances has set him back quite a bit.

I didn't think it was a gift decision. I thought Khan actually won but won by a round, it was very close. If Khan was as good as people thought a few years ago, he would be blowing the doors off a Lamont type fighter. Like I said he's good but face of boxing, he has yet to show it.

That's ridiculous, because you're not giving Peterson enough credit. Peterson is far from a bum, or even an average fighter. He's pretty good, and if Khan loses again, unless he gets dominated, it's just one good fighter losing to another. It happens, quite a bit.

If he beats LP that fight in DC only set him back 5 months. But he needs to sit on his punches more and cut down with the jumping around

Maybe I'm not giving Lamont enough credit but I don't view him as an opponent that should be causing the future face of boxing much trouble. Look at the past few faces and who they struggled with. Pacquaio with Marquez and Mayweather with Castillo, both those fighters(marquez and castillo) were great fighters. I don't know anyone that thinks Peterson is on that level. Maybe if Khan was struggling with Bradley, I'd feel differently.

no doubt there will be a "man wearing a hat" again or some other rubbish if khan loses again. if he wins though of course there won't be...
