I think he would be a fool to just go straight at floyd, thats floyds bread and butter, and i think miguels trainer knows this. Not that floyd cant fight coming forward, but thats not his strength. Cotto just coming forward would leave him wide open to be picked off all night. Just because you are making floyd come forward doesnt mean that you dont pick your spots to dig in, or that floyd wont find himsel against the ropes at all. Because of miguels jab, i think he could be fairly effective moving back, changing angles, making floyd come forward yet keeping him honest.

Actually boxing center ring is not a bad idea. Keep Mayweather off the ropes where he like to rest his tired legs. If Cotto could get Mayweather to lead instead of countering it would also put Mayweather in an uncomfortable position. But Cotto is used to being the aggressor. That will only help Mayweather. In a sense i agree with him. Floyd is effective at counter punching, at come forward fighters who he picks off/apart. What happens when somebody doesnt come forward, and instead moves backwards, changing angles, making floyd be the agressor, keeping him honest with a hard jab. I think it would be a good tactic on miguels part, to atleast try anyways. Try and take mayweather out of his game, get inside his head.

The problem with this is we know what happens when floyd is forced to become the aggressor. He pot shots all night to steal rounds. Thats why Marquez had no choice but to chase him or hand away rounds

I dont think anyone can make floyd lead, marquez known counter specialist as small as he is could not make pbf lead and JMM had to take the uncomfortable role....
