Mosley and Winky Arent Officialy Done Yet......

in terms of there careers. Im not saying that theyre not done, Im just saying that its not official. If Mosley were to lose to Canelo & Winky to Quillen then it would be official but until those fights happen then I cant just start throwing dirt on them just yet.

It reminds me of that recent article about how boxing fans have just become so negative towards everything. Basically every fight sucks or every fighter is done. To me this is a great undercard so far if they match it with Winky-Quillen or Paulie-Ghost, and e****ally both. Have you guys seen the cards weve been watching? Winky & Shane are 2 of the greats of our era and everyone is pissing on these matchups or them being on the card. I dont get it.

To me these are 2 great fights or moreso should I say that they are 2 very "intriguing" fights and as a boxing fan, thats all you can ask for. Back to my main point. Winky was on the top of his game and retired after giving Hopkins a tough fight in the 1st half at a weight that was much too big for him. He then retired for 2 years, came back and got blitzed by Williams and has been retired ever since.

1st off, that Williams was the prime, so called baddest man in boxing Paul Williams. Everyone was sweating him and he was in beast mode. There were alot of people who felt that Williams was just a bad matchup anyways. Even in Winky's prime, they felt that Williams was a bad matchup for him. That fight doesnt prove he is done. Sure he's been retired for 3 years since but he's still "was" a great fighter.

If Floyd retired for 3 years, you will still give him the benefit of doubt that "maybe" just maybe he has something left that a regular fighter cant mess with. We arent talking about Winky & Mosley vs Sergio. This is against young, unproven guys. Now to Shane. He lost and admittedly looks pretty bad but those 2 losses were still to the best 2 guys in the game. People like to add dirt to Mosley because of the Mora fight.

However, in his defense I will say that the fight was agaisnt a naturally bigger guy in Sergio who was close to being a MW at the time. 2 other things were that I think Mosley slept on him. He just killed Margarito, lost to Floyd, and Mora wasnt seen as that elite level. He just saw him as a small tv fighter who he would just use to setup a Pac fight and stay fresh.

3rd is that everyone including Shane felt the bigger man Mora was coming to fight him. That he would use his size to outdo Shane and be bringing the fight to shane but it was the complete opposite. He was on the move and boxed all fight. You could tell that caught Shane off guard. I think Mosley should go back to his dad one last time to finish his career off.

Then you look at the opponents. Alot of people dont wanna see Canelo fight Mosley, yet they also think he struggled against Gomez, hasnt fought anyone, and that guys like Kirkland might kill him. You cant have it both ways. I think this is the perfect test. You throw in a big name like Mosley who may or may not have anything left but has a ton of experince. If Canelo ices him then you know he's then ready to go to the next step. Now bring on the Kirkland's and so on. Its the perfect final test before the next step.

The same with Quillen. You wanna see him against the big boys but question some of his opponents. Now he has the perfect fight against Winky to move to the next step. A guy who once was great, may or may not have something left, but has a ton of experince. Win and then you are ready for the next level at MW and should have no fear. It would boost both guys confidence so much.

It just wouldnt shock me to see Winky still have something left in the tank. You also know that Winky is a pro who wont shortcut anything, e****ally after the Williams fight. He's going to come prepared and be the best that he can be. Then, didnt we all throw dirt on Mosley once before? He was done already in his career after a bunch of losses or averager peformances and then he bounced back out of nowhere.

Is it totally impossible for him to have one more go in him against a young, unproven cat? Either way, how are these fights not undercard worthy? Its perfect for the undercard and if the 2 young guys win then now can they move on and start headlining there own big shows against the other tough guys out there that you wanna see

I think Shane's kinda done but this fight will really tell. This is a really good style matchup for him and if he just can't pull the trigger it will be clear he's done. Canelo isn't gonna befuddle him with his defense or put him on the defensive with his speed.

        Yes, they are.

Mosley was riding high after the Mayorga and Margarito wins, and than the Mayweather-Mora-Pacquiao fights proved he was done.

Winky has been done to me since the Hopkins fight, and was a shell of himself against Williams 3 years ago.

Wow.....Anyway to the topic at hand Shane has looked shot and unable to pull the trigger in his last 3 fights but he still might be able to land a big shot on Canelo. Winky has been inactive so the jury is still out on where he is at in his career right now.

Everytime I see you Avatar it just makes me laugh, I am sorry. That is just a funny a$$ picture man.

But Winky is done as well. It showed against Hopkins that he was way past h is prime and he looked like a shell of himself against Williams. Same for Mosley. Against Floyd, it showed he was way past his prime and not that good at all anymore, and he looked even worse against Manny.

Shane is and Winky's borderline...we haven't seen Winky though so we don't know...Paul Williams was a horrible style matchup for him...

Yea Shane can beat the occasional fighter who compliments his style perfectly but he's completely done against elite-very good fighters...

Alvarez probably won't beat him up but I expect him to win a clear decision, if not then I think thatz more of Alvarez not being as good than Shane being over the hill...
