Cotto is a boxer without a weight.

As Gatti said when he retired ima fighter without a weight...

Cotto is too big for 147 and too small for 154.

Im a huge Cotto fan but regardless of the title he holds at 154 we know that there are lots of boxers at 154 that would give him fits..

Its a bit of a shame but thats boxing for you... I expect him to weigh about 152 for the Floyd fight and Floyd to weigh about 150

    I agree with the bold.

As far as having no weight...he is right on the middle. You may be correct, but I belive that he can hold his own at 154lbs.

I dunno bro. I think Kirkland, Bundrage, Williams, Molina, Trout, Vanes and Lara would all give him trouble.. Not saying they would all beat him but they would all give him a good fight

cotto looks like a chubby jr MW to me

there's no way inhell he cant make 147 any more

he is not that big. he made 145 for the pacquiao fight without looking that emaciated.

he campaigning at 154 for the big money fight against margarito, and the easy as pie world title against yuri foreman.

          he's a WW

i've heard plenty of rumors that he doesnt even train that hard

maybe an hour or two a day
it was in an interview with miguel torres (an mma fighter who trained with cotto in tampa,)

didnt I already see this thread before?

as for the weights with Cotto & Floyd, that may be what they weighin as but I suspect Floyd to still be around 150 in the ring while Cotto will be around 162 or more

That's expected considering where Cotto is at in this stage in his career, also the division too. Even though those guys could give him problems, those are also very winnable fights for him, VERY. I'd pick him to beat Lara, Williams (Now that he's taken far too much punishment), Vanes, Molina and D-Rod. Kirkland is a problem as Cotto would need to accumulate a serious amount of damage early on to safely win a decision, or get rid of him, he's capable of that too. It's not me overrating Cotto either, it's that I honestly don't see how 154 is viewed as a strong division, plenty of these fighters have serious weaknesses, aren't facing each other and no one has made the attempt to stand out, set aside themselves from everyone else.

I don't think Cotto too small he's just shorter then average middleweights which is about margaritos height 5'10-11. But he's good there. He has the boxing ability to box the ears off those bigger badder junior middleweights like kirkland and alavarez. I think he's the legit #1 Jr Middleweight. The only way alvarez can even challenge that is make his title be worth something by defending it against a world class junior middleweight like kirkland or Rodriquez.

Kirkland will be the man soon though. I imagine Cotto will be at 147 shortly to fight paciquao again. I think he will beat mayweather

LOL so are we saying that Kirkland is the best at LM? I cant really see anyone other than Martinez beating him at that weight tbh..

Kirklands style is all wrong for Cotto imo

Kirkland-Cotto can go so many ways it ain't even funny, 50-50, any outcome wouldn't surprise me.
