Hand problems can mess up the best of fighters, glad to see Donaire didn't break anything.

it might not sound like much to you guys, but when you think about how much money it costs to put on a show
      promote the thing
      pay your fighters
run your business, pay your employees
etc, you're looking at a HUGE overhead

and the expensive undercards cut right in to your profits
you do not need them. i'm sure arum keeps tabs on whether or not a stacked undercard makes him any extra money, an he's found that it does not.

again, the average casual fan doesnt know a single boxer not named pacquiao or mayweather, and they are the ones who drive PPV sales
hell, many casual fans dont even watch the undercards.

in business you are CRAZY to spend money regularly on something you dont need. perhaps he can do it once in a blue moon, but it's not something he can do regularly without costing himself millions of dollars per year.
and it's not something that he wants fans getting used to

In the SHORT term not long term. You put Donaire or Gamboa or someone like that right before Pacquiao, that's a lot of exposure, especially if they put on an exciting show. It's about building a future fanbase. You're right the average causual fan only knows floyd & manny. The point is to try to get them to know someone else too, like Donaire (or gamboa etc.).

Arum looks only looks at the immediate profit.

Golden Boy puts on good undercards, it shouldn't be that hard for Bob Arum.

I told all of you that it was nothing more then a cut............

donaire never had any fractures or anything even CLOSE to a broken hand lolol

LOL @ him telling team vaquez that he only looked like **** because of a broken hand "but you're still a great fighter" LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

what a dumba** that can't accept that he had his eye ball blown up by a c level fighter.

he should put down the crack if he still thinks he can do anything with gamboa...........

damn man a bit harsh haha.

broken hand or just a hurt hand he still won just about every round except probably 2.

As for his eye it became puffy in round 2 from a few jabs. I think that has more to do with his skin or his conditioning with the extra weight maybe than anything else. Lennox Lewis often got puffy eyes after the first round or two. I've seen other guys get puffy from hardly anything landing. I remember Joan Guzman's eye getting puffy after like 60 seconds against soto and he barely got touched.

not necessarily...good undercards would most likely raise the ppv buys so there's a possibility that it won't just offset the additional cost but would add more profits. it's a matter of taking business risks and good projections.

his eye was red in the 2nd round.......it wasn't puffed up. it became puffed up & very red because donaire wouldn't keep his freaking hands up. that has nothing to do with skin, if you refuse to keep your hands up you will suffer the consequences.........the same jab landed over & over again & vazquez even started to land the right. thats what almost closed his eye & not something like bad skin......(more like bad defense)

i am simply responding to the many posters who claimed that donaire broke his hand.

it was many claiming this after the fight but have magically disappeared.
