Donaire negative x rays

I'm not saying necessarily it's his skin, I don't know what it is. If it's a single shot that caused it thats fine as well, the point is it was puffy early without much happening. It got worse as the fight went on but it's not like vazquez busted up his face. Donaire had a red/puffy eye early and naturally it got a bit worse after 12 rounds.



I said mostly jabs. That was mostly what he was landing. I recall a few good right hands but nothing major (watched the fight twice).

Donaire's face tends to look like that any time he gets tagged. But in this case...he ate a lot of jabs, some subtle jabs turned hooks and from the middle rounds going, right hands. He ate a lot of jabs though.

i responded in saying that it had nothing to do with his skin or conditioning........it was him keeping his hands low. I know it seems unbelievable but it's just that simple. all of that other crap is just excuses. you repeated "it was because of his skin or conditioning more then ANYTHING else" totally ignoring the fact that the guy fought with his hands down for the entire fight. his eye wasn't the only thing swollen....his face was swollen, his face was very bruised with red spots.....& his nose was swelled. his face was beat up.

i can't remember donaire ever looking like that.

His face does swell and redden easy but you're right, he was a little more jacked up than usual. And ate a lot of punches. Not on purpose either lol. It wasn't a very impressive performance at all but Vasquez isn't a shabby fighter.

That's because Donaire didn't have 400 amateurish fights.He had i think 40 and 20 + as pro. Plus get this, 1 fight at 122 and he already became a world champion.Didn't take 400 amateurish fights and 9 fights as pro against bums to do it.

you're obviously rubbishing amateur experience, calling those bouts "amateurish", and yet you think that winning a world title after 9 pro bouts is less impressive than what donaire has done because rigondeaux has had more amateur bouts and fought "bums" in his first 9 pro bouts.

i have to admit i'll have to boxrec that one because- like anybody else- i've no idea what all times greats donaire was up against...
let's see- ooh, all but two had losing records (one debut in there too) and of those two he lost one on a UD.
rigo has ONLY fought against guys with winning records so far, including one interim world champion, one european champion, and one full world titlist. so who's been up against bums again?
so maybe those "amateurish" fights were worth having after all?

I think there are times where a fighter will invite a single punch just to sort of see how much power their opponent has. They'll try to take the steam off of it a little to avoid full impact but for the most part, I agree. And in this case, Donaire was def getting tagged. I could see a couple times he wanted to roll with the punch to counter but his timing was bad.

Vasquez didn't have 400 amateurish fights.That kid is a natural fighter.Must be in the blood being a son of a champion.I am not knocking Rigo.Just saying he has to do more.He can't bring his resume of 400 amateurish fights and expect to get the big breaks in the pros right away.It doesn't work that way.
