It is possible that it is fractured. A break is serious, and propel say it loosely. A crack in a bone is common consider to a break and does hurt, but not ad much.
THe knuckles look badly skinned. To me it doesn't look swollen enough to be broken. And a bone break would not bleed, unless it was a bad compound fracture, piercing the skin.
