Anyone know how long his injury will keep him out?
Any news on Nonito's hand?

I personally don't believe his hand is broken at all.
Likely just a cut. They want the public to believe it's broken so they can label him as the "humble guy who fought it out with a broken hand". Personally, I won't believe his hand was broken in the fight until there is confirmation. -
He said when he woke up sun he could move his fingers and swelling had gone down a bit IMO he just burst some blood vessels and took the skin off I'd say he will be out for 2 to 3 weeksComment

The thing is, you know when your hand is broken. After the fight they asked him and he said something along the lines of "I don't know if it's broken, I can move it a little bit"
It sure looks swollen and bruised though. I think all the blood was from the cut on his knuckle.Comment

honestly that doesnt look like a broken hand that was used for 10 rounds after it was broken
the damage looks to be done to the index finger. i'd worry about some of his soft tissues being torn, maybe one of the knuckles being cracked or chipped, a very deep bruise, something along those lines.
it was a serious injury at any rate that effected his performance
i'd guess that his hands werent wrapped very well, especially considering the cutting
he was also wearing everlast gloves, which dont have a reputation for protecting your hands the way that grant and winning will.
it wasnt the MX everlast by the looks, but i'm not really sure. that is their punchers glove with the loosest form and the least substantial protection.
generally when there is a break invovled in with a bone there is very little movement going on for weeks, as others have said. there's usually pretty gross swelling as well. that's swollen and roughed up, but by my eyes it looks like it would be a bit more swollen 10 rounds after he broke it
i'll be interested to see the extent of the damage if they release any information after he sees some specialists.Last edited by New England; 02-06-2012, 08:29 PM.Comment
