Very few boxers, Ali, Tyson, Ray Leonard can sell tickets on their own. Fans want to see fights not concerts. Maussa has little credibility or name recognition as a fight r yet and no one is spending 100 quid for a mismatch.
Hatton/Maussa....No Sell Out

100 Euros is pretty much $100. £100 (pounds) is about $175 at the minute.Originally posted by steelheadso british fans where would the bigger money venue be for a hatton/mayweather. vegas or in england.
and how much american is 100euro?
I'm surprised there's been so few sales as Manchester's pretty close to Sheffield. If I lived a bit closer I'd be going.
I think the fight generates more money in England. It could easily sell out an 80,000 seater stadium with a decent undercard.Comment

I'm absolutely shocked that they managed to even sell 100 tickets. I'd be very suprised if even 10 people from Sheffield have bought tickets. Ricky Hatton is a very small name outside of Manchester (unless your a die-hard boxing fan).
The crowd will be made up of Hatton's loyal Manchester fans making the trip to Sheffield.Comment

JuyJuys right. Hatton could sell 60,000 tickets at man citys ground, but anywher outside manchester & he just will not sell tickets becos nobody knows who he is!Comment

I thought Hatton also drew big crowds at London? I'll ignore the ignorant comments about Hatton's learning curve fights being a "mismatch"... no one is going to pay to see someone take on a mandatory defence against someone who is such an underdog. (Clever move by Hatton though, he'll have two belts by this weekend).
Here's another thought... are some of the potential crowd holding back their £100 for December 10th?Comment
