That was a good thing what Vasquez did.. Im Mexican and support all Mexican fighters but i have always like all boxing no matter where the fighters are from. One of my favorite all time boxers was Wilfredo Vasquez sr., and Angel Manfredy. I have talked ****t about Puerto Ricans on here many times, mainly in response to PR's talking ****t about Mexicans, but it gets old. Im tired of fighting and talking ****t on here, I just ignore the Mexican haters. Isnt it time we Latinos start supporting each other??Mexico and Puerto Rico rule ****en boxing!!!

Hell I work with some Chicanos that get mad if u call them that. I used to dislike Nuyoricans but as I gotten older I have learned to just ignore them. I get along great with Mexicans this is the internet and people that sit behind a computer will talk **** all day. That's why u see so many idiots posting garbage but any true fan knows there's mutual respect among us and that childish **** is probably coming from a 10 year old behind a computer.

There is always some idiots around but don't generalize. My brother, cousins and a lot of friends were raise in NY from PR parents. And none of them are classless. People basing their opinion in randoms experience is just sad. I know a bunch of idiots, here in PR and there in the state, but that is not the majority.

There's nothing wrong with being proud of your fighters when it comes to a sports competition but taking out of the realm of sport and making it personal is ******.

All the racist **** that goes on here is ******. You can talk trash and talk Mexico vs PR but leave it in the ring. Calling people illegals and monkeys isn't helping the situation.

It is obvious. When Oscar fought Quartey, all the Puerto Ricans were backing Oscar. When he fought Trinidad, they all backed Trinidad. Hispanics be it Mexican's or Puerto Ricans will ALWAYS side with themselves when a Hispanic fighter fights an African-American, Fillipino, etc. This is a clear pattern. Same with African-Americans, they back their fighters. I have always backed the humble fighters. I don't like arrogant, unbeaten pricks of any background.

WV2 def won some people over by carrying the Mexican flag into the ring. Call it a smart marketing move. Haha. But Mexicans usually root for the Latino fighter, period. My dad ALWAYS roots for the Rican fighters when they go against any other non-latino. Same goes for any LAtino fighter, Cubans, Dominicans, Agrentinos, etc. It's just in us. Especially people who don't indulge in the BS that is written on here by BOTH sides. I respect Rican fighters, always will. Yeah, I don't like the whole talking aspect SOME of them have but it's part of the game. I'm a Cotto fan. Love that dude. Anyway, I know who the "friend" is he's talking about. Cool dude. Won't drop names. And for those Ricans who think he sold out...get your ignorant a$$ some dignity and realize this isn't a WAR. We compete against each other and should respect each other since we've been dominating the sport for so long. If this rivalry has caused you to hate a certain race/culture/ethnicity then you need to check yourself.

I couldn't agree more. People can debate objectively over fighters and achievements if they want, but when they start insulting nationalities, it doesn't make sense anymore.
