lol @ Mares laying the blue print

yea...dont outpunch your opponent, dont outland your opponent and win only 3 rounds to expose him

why would Arum protect Donaire from Mares?

If he needs protecting, its from bigger stronger guys like Gamboa, who arent in Nonito's weight class anyway

plus Arum is making a fight for someone better than Mares - Nishioka
Abner Mares entered the Showtime Bantamweight tournament thinking Donaire and Montiel would have joined as well. Not saying Nonito is afraid of Mares, because I don't think he is. But Top Rank didn't want to be apart of the tournament. Thats a fact.

Nonetheless. Hopefully that fight will happen down the line.

Abner is my favorite fighter amongst the lower weights along side Nonito and Rigo. I think Abner has the speed, movement, skill and perhaps the pop to give Nonito a run for his money. At BW I believed it would be more lopsided for Donaire but at SBW it would be much closer. Abner ate a hard right in the beginning rounds of the first Joseph Agbeko that didn't stop him. In fact I've only seen him hurt perhaps 2 two times in his last 4 bous against top opposition. Yeah Nonito can counter and hit hard but Abner can also adjust. Abner can box or slug it out and the best part is he is aware of his abilities in ring. This fight would be explosive but I would love for Abner to finish cleaning up the BW division and fight Anselmo Moreno before re adjusting to 122. God this fight would be so sick tho.

Mares has a good chin and the work rate and stamina to outwill Donaire but I think Mares leaves himself to open for counters.

It would certainly make for an interesting fight but I don't see it being an 'easy' fight for any one of them.

Not easy, but extremely competitive. Mares is better than anyone Donaire has fought. Rather see Mares than Rigo even if Mares isn't ranked at 122. There isn't that big of a difference between the two weight classes so Mares might as well be up there.

You predicted that Vazquez would KO Donaire but you were wrong about that.

An Abner Donaire matchup wouldn't be easy for either fighter. Abner is durable and would give Donaire a run for his money. Donaire has the power and skills to outbox and ko Mares.

your crazy if you think mares is better than montiel...he aint even better than darchinyan...yeah, he beat him but that fight could've gone either way...the only good clear win for abner right now is agbecko.....thats it...mares is not in the same class as nonito...now , if youre talking about a vasquez vs mares, then that'd be a competitive fight...
