I sense things about him that make me believe he is the major HYPE JOB of the century !!

He is slick , fast , and smart.

He has not fought a top elite contender in the Welter weight divison in his LIFE unless its ORTIZ !!

This in my opinion was ORTIZ'z fight to LOSE and hopefully he learned something. After he quit against Maidana I quit on him but he won me back with his performance against Berto, but did that make him Elite ?

Many of yall are fooled :

Jr said he liked guys comfortable in their weight ! LMAO !!!!!!

Was Hatton in his weight ? He was proven he couldn't fight WW, but thats what JR had him fight at.

What about JMM ?? JR. Cheated on purpose ,,,,badly, like real bad !!!!

HE ducked a PRIME ELITE COTTO in 2007 and 8 !!!!!!!

HE ducked a PRIME ELITE MARGO same dates and went on vacation or retirement.

HE ducked little Pacman and is consumed with Pac !

NOW he fights a man who has been brutalized by Margo and Pac.

Truth is that all you can say about Jr is that he fights beat up brutalized fighters , washed up fighters , old fighters, little fighters and wee little fighters and ducks anyone that presents a threat !

That speaks nothing of his skills but speaks volumes of his HEART !

His shield is his skills , think with me, the problem is he won't fight anyone that threatens taking that shield away and exposing his heart.

All the running over the years, the ones that came close but no cigar, the punch from Zab, or the Hatton punch or the one from Moses, even ODH who only lost by a point in the worst big fight of the ages, and even ORTIZ who if you watched in slo mo would faint at the sight, because the punches that were said to land did NOT land.

    To all the naysayers:

IF JR is so great, not speaking of his skill but him as a fighter, then why hasn't he in past tense , taken on all comers ??? Why , if he is his own man and can fight anybody, ducked key fighters who presented the threat to dismantle him and expose his heart.

I say take away his shield and you will see a weakly little man that is full of SH!* !

Can a worn out fighter like Cotto do it ?

He still can fight for a few rounds, that cuban trainer may have the plan and discipline to find something to bring down that shield but it will have to be the fight of his life to get that shield down, in my opinion if he don't do it in the first three years its all over.
LMAO!!!! Margarito has never been elite! Cotto is younger than Mayweather and Bob Arum didn't want that fight.....#justsaying

People I'm sure haven't been in a tough fight in their life but want to comment on what they take out of you or what a fighter has left after them. There is a reason fighters have to fight the fights and a winner isn't decided after they sign the contracts. Cotto and Kirkland are my two favorite fighters and Ali my favorite all time. Obviously! but as great as he was Norton gave him fits and could be argued beat him in those fights. As great as Floyd is he hasn't been tested often and if he does walk thru Cotto all props to him. But this is a fight I want to see and I give Cotto a good shot because he is not an easy out and after fights, even the ones he's lost, his opponents walk out looking like they have been in a fight! He is flawed and he takes shots but he's also touched every fighter he's been in the ring with. Floyd will be in a fight. And only reason I say Floyd hasn't been tested is because I believe in this era he could have taken on more tougher fighters. Guys like Oscar and now Cotto have fought everybody. Contenders, Champs, everybody! Floyd just hasn't. And because Arum said Cotto wasn't ready doesn't mean anything. Because we both know if Floyd was a top rank fighter at that time that fight would have happened! And Floyd was smart to duck margarito in retrospect but it's fairly easy to see and it's verified Floyd turned that fight down long before his cheating was exposed! Floyd is smart and cautious in his selection and fighting style. He won't knock Cotto out because he won't try to. So whatever points I have I'll bet them all
You need to at least 5MIL to get in on this bet. That's how much other homie is throwing up. That's basically all of his points. Floyd was signed with Top Rank when Cotto was at 140. Floyd left after Arum didn't want to guarantee him a 20MIL fight with Oscar and 10MIL guarantees against Hatton and Cotto in order to fight Margarito. Floyd left and the Oscar fight happened. Not believing of buying Floyd ducked Cotto/Margarito when throughout his career he called out much better guys to fight after all of his fights. Cotto is tough but here are the things Floyd has over Cotto..... speed, foot work, stamina, defense, accuracy and mental strength. Floyd adjust if he is in trouble. Cotto has trouble doing that. If the fight goes past the 6th I can see Cotto having stamina issues. Once Floyd starts making Cotto miss and pay. He will most likely get discouraged. I think it will be a beating. Props to Cotto if he makes it competitive. Props to him anyway for taking the fight.

Hatton did well again Floyd, even with Cortez helping Floyd. I remember at the time people were talking about Hatton and Cotto potentially fighting and that the majority held the belief Cotto would be too much for Hatton.

If Cotto is still indeed better than Hatton he will do well against Floyd. Cotto will beat Floyd possibly.

I have been watching Mayweather for a long time and if he turns it up then a stoppage is on it's way. Sometimes I feel like people on here started watching Floyd when he fought Baldomir and De La Hoya. Floyd is an accurate fighter and after a while of eating punches without being able to answer can get you out of there. A stoppage in a Floyd fight is always possible but depends on if he is going to turn it up or not. Cotto is tough but I think in my own opinion (Don't have to like it) that Cotto is not going to the final bell.
The Ortiz KO simply doesn't count, and the one before that was Hatton moving up from Jr. WW. I can't even remember his last KO before that... Gatti maybe? He didn't KO Oscar or Baldomir... most of his KO's are at lightweight and under. People are underestimating Cotto pretty massively and greatly overrating Floyd's power.

LOL! come on, you got to look out for the little fish too! Guess I have to start posting more and get my weight up. All Floyds advantages are what u say they are! But they still have to fight the fight And Cotto is not completely deficient in any of those skill sets. He's mentally tough no matter what some people may post! Hes a focused and determined guy. His career shows that. He's gonna show up to fight and he will win or Floyd will show how good he really is. Either way it's a win win and good for boxing in my humble opinion

Cotto might or might not be the one people wanted to see floyd fight the most. But he is the one and its good to just see Floyd fight again and keeping out of mischief.

I dont think people care too much who beats Floyd as long as someone does it.

I respect Roach's opinion, but Floyd is taller, has the longer reach, has better conditioning + the superior boxing skills to boot.

Miguel is in for a long night.
