Donaire tonight I think he was trying to be more of a showman rather than just focusing on boxing.

Donaire probably could have boxed a simple, yet boring fight and he would have won easily, but he's trying to hard to entertain so he's messing around a lot, switching up his style constantly, etc.
he was tring tooo hard man, he really was.....and he has been trying to do the same **** for a long time.....the man got huge ego but limited ways to impress.....so what if he looked vulnerable as long as he won?.....but NO, this arrogant son od a b1cth got to pull every exuse in the book why he did'nt ko his opponenet when there really was no need to...

you ever had a frined who says he should've slept with that woman if he wnated to but did not becausse he did'nt want to?....thats nonito, he's full of ****!

haha that's a funny analogy but I wouldn't say he's full of **** I honestly think he's just trying too hard to be a showman & entertain the viewers. He should calm it down a bit and just focus on the basics in fights like this. If the KO comes it will come but forcing the matter usually doesn't work out.

roach isn't made for every fighter, and in this case, roach isn't for nonito. he admired his work too much and showboated in this fight, that's why he looked the way he did tonight imo. i'm not too fond of garcia just yet, like nonito, i think most of his fighters are successful because of their natural abilities/skills, not cause of garcia's guidance (not saying people are claiming that). we'll see how they move along though, so far they're a pretty good duo.

usually fighters have big egos it goes with the line of work, lot of fighters have done this, Erik Morales goes to mind he would brawl to give a good show...

Man who u think Roach is God?...every trainer is just about the same, they just have big name fighters that make the trainers more popular and people think that makes the trainer special...Freddie wont do anything to Nonito but ruin whats already been made...I know this is predictable, but I wouldnt mind him messing with Sr, simply because ssr was a master in counterpunching and defense and he could tighten up Nonito...and I REALLY hate to add Floyd Sr to this convo

it's not the trainer who's the problem but donaire. he's thinks of himself too high because of his skills that he ignores garcia's instruction. he lets his emotions go first. good thing he got his skills that's why no one has taken advantage of it yet.

However, I think Garcia is running to the same problems. Where he is starting to train too many fighters. And, is running himself thin as well.

A trainer should be focus to just 1 or 2, at the most 3 fighters. If Donaire does change trainers he can go to Goosen who might be a good fit. Or to Hunter. As far as I know Hunter works with just Ward. And, Donaire and Ward are friends since the amateur days. And, Donaire will be closer to home than what he is in Garcia gym.

If not, then just stay with Garcia.
Another great comment...in the back of my mind I was thinking the exact same thing...how can a top trainer be affective, when he's a top trainer to multiple superstar athletes...what if Khan and Manny have a fight on the same night in different cities or something...u have to be dedicated, and I find it hard to believe that he's dedicated to all these fighters

Can anyone name a boxer that switched trainers to get a better defense and it actually worked?

Its not about that...every fighter has egos..but when u have a fighter like Nonito who everyone started hyping up and comparing him to Floyd and Pac, and it goes to his head and he's in training like, "Look at me, Im sooo good, I can immulate any style"..."Look at me...Im so good that even tho Im losing, instead of fighting smart, I will show boat to prove a point to the crowd that Im not hurt"..Im like dude gt over urself...an angle gets her wings, everytime Nonito gets exposed in a fight
