This is likely just frustrated talk. The guy has not been able to set up a big fight.

What a chump, make something happen for yourself~ that attitude shows exactly why he has done nothing since that "big" win.
Good fighter but damn do something anything then talkComment

Hey I agree on both ends. If Pirog wanted to fight him in Russia and only Russia, that's dumb. But, if that's not the case and Sergio turned down a career high payday against him, that's dumb as well.
Which is why they should just fight in Atlantic City or something. Barker was an average fight, but Macklin is legit. Macklin really beat Sturm and everyone knows that. So, Macklin reallyu should be the WBA MW Champ right now, but Felix seems content staying in Europe getting gift decision after gift decision.
If Sergio can't get fights with Floyd and Manny, who have no obligation to fight him, he should make his legacy at 160 and 168.
Fight Macklin, Pirog, Lee, and Quillin. Then, finish off your career fighting Ward, Dirrell bro's, Bute, Froch, etc. We all know that Felix and Julio won't fight Sergio.
He'll get far greater respect for that than just randomly calling out Welterweights.
At the same time, Erislandy Lara is now without a fight and had said he'd move up to 160 to fight Martinez or Pirog.
Lara-Pirog??????Comment

This. He should try and get a match with Andy Lee then, who seems to not have an opponent atm. Other potential opponents could be Golovkin (who has a WBA and IBO title) and Kid Chocolate. Pirog just needs to defend his title against quality opposition.Comment

Yeah exactly!!! he spoke with the Team of Martinez and they said that you are so clever and smart and they are afraid to fight you. What else did they say?? Did they say that you are #2 pound for pound king with 45 wins and 48 KO's and they will never step in the ring with you. Pirog acts like some British boxers who fought 10 fights winning these "gucci" belts and planning on retiring. Get your record straight dudeComment

Looking to unify is admirable and all, but how about fighting a few top 10-15 guy first at least? Kind of ridiculous to want to retire with only 19 fights. With that belt, he has more leverage that most guys could would dream of. It's one thing if you're some dude struggling to make ends meat and needs to retire to feed his family, but Pirog is making a ton money. He has all the time in the world. All he has to do is wait. Something will come up.Comment

Big Pirog fan here and I don't like hearing talk like that, I think it's just frustration. He needs to just keep fighting and something will come his way. You can't always force the issue. If he can't get the top stars, there are a number of very good fighters that could raise some eyebrows like Andy Lee, Peter Quillin, Golovkin, Proksa, etc.Comment
