Two factors you guys are missing Manny is a 140 pounder at best... Second you shouldn't be suprised if a guy has a fight at 150 and weighs inn at 144.5 against a guy that is taller (5 inches) longer reach (6 inches) and weight 17 pounds on fight night... Manny wasn't even 149 on fight night... To ask Manny to move up to 154 12 pounds above his walk around weight is kind of crazy. He is 5'6.5" and a 143 pounds and anything above 147 is too much... Floyd on the other hand walks around at 150 which anything above the 147 limit is JrMW. Which made the Mayweather vs. Marquez fight (catchweight) insane to me and especial when Floyd came in 2 pounds over. In boxing anything between 148 and 154 is a Jr MW because the WW limit is 147... Manny who has never weighed inn at 147 since moving to WW is clearly not a JrMW... Cotto says he is not a WW so I don't see a problem with Cotto asking hey even thought you said before and after the Margarito fight you will never fight above 147 again because you weighed inn at 144.5 for a 150 pound fight and was outweighed 17 pounds in the ring, knowing all that have you changed you mind? And likewise Manny asking Cotto hey you tried to get Margarito to go down to 151 before accepting 153to defend your own 154 pound belt, so are you comfortable at 154 can you still make WW? There is nothing wrong with both guys saying no... Anybody who thinks Manny should fight at 154 or 150 again for that matter is insane. He hasn't even weighed in at 147 for a WW fight yet and has never weighed in above 150 on fight night... Where Floyd and Cotto always weigh over 150 on fight night since both guys moved to WW... Easy to understand when you use reason. Manny is just to small for 150 or 154... Just like his classic counterparts that made him famous are... Nobody expects Barrera, Marquez, are Morales to fight at 150 or 154 so why Manny??? Because he tried 150 once and came in at 144.5... He's just to small to fight above WW, hell he is even small for a WW, PERIOD
if pac wasnt going above 47 why did he want 48? your post failed right there. Do no pass go or collect $200....better yet, just go str8 to dunceville

It's just sad though because I would rather see another fighter take the beating not my boy Cotto
haha. agreed. if floyd fight Cotto like he did Mosley and Ortiz but turns on the gas like he did with Ortiz, Cotto doesnt see the final bell

I like MC chances against PBF! PBF is not a pressure fighter and throws 15 punches a round and loves to lay on the ropes! That plays into MC favor and having a better trainer will make a difference. PBF is not a better inside fighter than MC and will not have the legs to run around. I smell upset!!! Don't be shocked!

Yes. Because Pac v Cotto would draw and sell as much as Pac v PBF. Are all Floyd fans this simplistic?

Who cares? At 145 Pacquiao kills Cotto. At 147 Pacquiao kills Cotto. At 148 Pacquiao kills Cotto. At 150 Pacquiao kills Cotto. At 154 Pacquiao kills Cotto only slightly less.

Same goes for Mayweather vs Cotto. I like Cotto a lot, but he isn't in the same league as Pacquiao or Mayweather, and further; his style is perfect for Pacquiao. I have no desire to see another PAC-Cotto fight. Only Floyd Fanboys are harping on this, and the funny thing is that all of Floyds fans would have been rabid had Pacquiao taken another fight with Cotto. At any weight.

There was a time when I thought Cotto was a serious threat to Floyd Mayweather. He's a smart guy in and out of the ring. But I think he's nowhere near as slick as Floyd. Only good thing is he's very accurate. Whether or not he can land on Floyd, we'll see. Cotto does have good speed. Should be a good fight. I'll be watching in on 1 week delay however on HBO. Irrefuse to buy and more fights with the 2 goons at the top. Both already got too much money.

You are a sad little man if you think the 20 or 30 trolls on this site reflect the views of the real world. Everyone, outside of the aforementioned little core of nut-hugging PBF fans on this site, realizes that Manny has been trying to make this fight. They realize that Floyd has had a history of being difficult to make a fight with. They realize that a $40M "offer" on a $200M fight is not really an offer at all.

                  You need to get smarter...

The only KO power Mr. Glass-Hands Mayweather Jr. is when he sucker punches his opponents...when did Fraud KO (as in laid someone out) an opponent? 1999 Justin Juuko; that's when. Not since 1999 has Fraud laid someone out. So no way is Fraud ever going to KO Cotto. Not with his new trainer...in fact I would go as far as to say that it would be Cotto to starch Fraud. Cotto has the power (both body and head) shots to put even Fraud out. IMO, if Cotto touches Fraud with a combination body head shot...we may see the 2nd up-set of 2012 (the 1st being Rubio over JCC2).

man this is a dream matchup that i wish would of happened before the pac beatdown. Back then i think he would have been more competive, his training back then wasnt all that great. i think with this new trainer he looked really good and wasnt as faded i thought he was going to be against margarito. i am interested in seeing if cotto switches to lefty a lot more in this fight to keep mayweather on his toes. i am rooting for cotto but, it is what it is. mayweather is the man, hands down, dont like his antics outside the ring burning money and all the wwe promo he does, in the ring, he is king. i at least give him that.
