I will say Cotto just because that is what I said before and I still find it hard to believe GBP would want Floyd-Canelo to happen right now.
Per the poll right now, if Mayweather names Cotto. Boxingscene will not have been outfoxed on this announcement. Excited to hear if we're correct.

It makes sense if they believe Canelo has peaked or has really bought into his hype thus is not really trying to improve anymore. Then it really doesn't matter if he loses here to Floyd or not and infact that might be one of the few ways to get him back on track, risky as he could completely fall apart but it could also spur improvement.

Another possibility is Canelo has bought the hype and thinks he is ready, GBP has to try and keep him happy as he is their most obvious star of the future so they could between a rock and a hard place.

Still there is no way they want that right now unless something is awry.

well most people think Cotto is shot and past his prime. So its most likely going to be him. I hope hes not past his prime or shot.

If Canelo loses to Mayweather, someone everyone thinks is a bit too experienced for Canelo right now anyway.. He will not lose a step in his career. He'll only become more popular and a bigger PPV draw. Fighting Mayweather would likely be good for Canelo's career imo win, lose or draw.

It would only be really bad if Mayweather makes a complete and utter mockery of Canelo in the ring. If it's just a dominant decision or even a late knockout however? I think it's still good for Canelo's career.
